Taken From The Past - Blue Fern Studios

Hi everyone!  I'm up on the Blue Fern Studios Blog today sharing a frame I altered with the
Attic Charm collection.

I started off with a small white decorative frame which I dabbed with some rose gold wax.  I then began to build up layers by using Curio, Calling Cards and Attire papers from the Attic Charm collection.  In addition to building up layers I did a lot of fussy cut work from papers.  

Here I used a couple of older chipboard pieces from Blue Fern Studios which I embossed with Pink Dust embossing powder.  I lightly dabbed on some rose gold wax and added a sprinkling of Gold Nugget, Tickled and Sweet Pea Seedlings.

Tucked between layers I used some Blue Fern lace and flowers from Moody Florals and

Chesterville Blooms.  I added some fussy cut work from the Attic Key, Attire, Curio and Mercantile papers.

Authentic - Blue Fern Studios

Hi everyone!  Today I have a mixed media canvas to share with you, designed for Blue Fern Studios using the Happy Accident 2 collection.

I started off by stamping randomly on the canvas with the Grungy Grid and Forever stamps.  Next I added some flourishes with paint and a stencil, and then added some copper wax.  I created layers using the 

 Balmoral, Chase, Grubby and Faux papers from Happy Accident 2, along with some Happy Accident 2 ephemera.  

To the right I used the Blooms & Butterfly chipboard piece, which I cut in half.  I embossed it with Blue Fern Chile Powder Embossing Powder and dabbed on some blue paint and copper wax.  I tucked in a couple of flowers from Harvest Lilies and  Happy Floral. I covered the chipboard piece at the bottom with copper wax and stamped over it with the Grungy Grid stamp. 

Here I used the other half of the Blooms & Butterfly chipboard, along with some other Blue Fern Chipboard that I embossed with Chile Powder Embossing Powder, then dabbed with blue paint, added copper wax and some stamping.

The title is from the Arrow Words 2 set.  To finish off the canvas, I applied some mini art stones along with some Paprika and Evening Sky Seedlings.

Win or learn, never lose - Blue Fern Studios

Hi everyone!   I'm so excited to be back designing for Blue Fern Studios.   

 Today I have a mixed media canvas to share with you that I created using the 

Happy Accident 2 collection.

I started off with blank canvas and added texture with paints, waxes, modeling paste and papers. Lots of layering using the Suave and Grubby papers and ephemera from the Happy Accident 2 collection.

The title is from the Happy Accident 2 printed chipboard.   To the right I used a Late Winter Lily which I dabbed with some brown rust effect paste and added some Blue Fern Paprika and Twig Seedlings.

I placed a few pieces of chipboard among my layers.  To the right I used the Criss Cross chipboard, embossed with Blue Fern Melon Embossing Powder.  To the left I used a Classic Mini Frame chipboard, painted Blue and gold.

To the left and right of my layering I placed a Chesterville Blooms coral flower which I dabbed with some gold wax.  I also placed a Swirls &Twirls chipboard piece, covered with gold wax.  Tucked beneath the Late Winter Lily I used a blue flower from The Chesterville Blooms.  The finishing touch, Twig and Paprika Seedlings.

Be Yourself - Blue Fern Studios

Hi everyone!  I'm back to share another layout created for Blue Fern Studios.   This one features an older collection, Garden Life.

I applied some inking on the background along with some masking. The background paper is Wallflowers (Side B). Lots of layering and fussy cut flowers under the photo from In Bloom, Calling Cards and Flower Bed papers.

I used a Flourish Ornaments here.  I cut the border off of it.  I embossed it with Snow Embossing powder and applied some ink.  A sprinkling of Tickled Seedlings were placed around the layout.  I used Fresh Florals, Apricot Blooms and Summer Blooms.

On each side of the photo I used the Heidi's Emblem Chipboard, embossed with Snow embossing Power and lightly inked.  Beneath the photo I used Stencil Tag 1.

Every Moment Matters - Blue Fern Studios

Hi everyone!  I'm back to share another layout created for Blue Fern Studios, featuring the Tranquility and Tattered Walls paper collections.

I used Peaceful from the Tranquility collection for the background.  I applied some amber and marmalade inks on the background and lots stamping using the Tattered Newsprint and Remnants Collage stamps.

Beneath the photo I used the Trailing Scrolls chipboard.  I stained it dark brown and added some Tangerine Embossing Powder.  Beneath the photo I added layers using The Reading Room (side B) from Tattered Walls along with some pieces from the Ephemera pack.

The title is printed chipboard from the Remnants collection.

Here I used the Wheat Stalk chipboard piece, which I stained brown and added Tangerine Embossing Powder.

Lots of beautiful flowers including Tranquil Blooms and Memories Blooms.  Some of the centers of the flowers are covered with Sailors Delight Glitter.  I used Twig, Paprika and Harvest Seedlings.

Adore - Blue Fern Studios

Hi everyone!  Hope you all had a great weekend!  Today I have my first of three layouts to share that I created for Blue Fern Studios .  This one features the Tattered Walls collection.

 

I used The Garage (Side B) for the background, and applied various distress inks, paint splatters and a variety of Blue Fern Stamps, Floral Grunge, Remnants Collage and Texture Circles.

I placed pieces from Lace 4 around my page.  The lace was inked with a antique distress color.     A sprinkling of Red Grape and Wintergreen Seedlings were applied to the lace.  I  used the following flowers, Summer Blooms, Courtship Roses (which I sprayed with brown mist) and Harvest Lilies.  I added Rose Gold Glitter to the edges and centers of the flowers.

The title was embossed with a mixture of Mushroom and Antique Gold Embossing Powders.

Lots of layering under the photo using the Carolina Room and The Maids Room.  I placed Garden Lattice chipboard pieces on both sides of the photo, embossed with Mushroom and Antique Gold Embossing Powders.

Calm - Blue Fern Studios

Hi everyone!  I'm back with my third layout created for Blue Fern Studios featuring the Wanderlust collection.  

 I used Ocean Voyage (Side B) for the background.    For layering beneath the photo l used Souvenir (Side B).  I used the Tattered Newsprint Stamp and added some paint spatters in various colors.

Beneath the layering I used the Quatrefoil Panel chipboard which I treated with some brown stain. I added some Gold Nugget and Aquamarine Seedlings.

Flowers are from  Wanderlust Lilies, Tranquil Blooms and Memories Blooms.  The Leafy Twig chipboard was embossed with Taupe embossing powder.

Here I've used a round calendar piece from The Wanderlust Printed Chipboard.  The doily was cut from Seascape Side B. The leaves are from the Forest Branch Chipboard.  I stained them brown and added some gold wax.

The title was stained brown .

Memories - Blue Fern Studios

Hi everyone!  I'm back with my 2nd July layout created for Blue Fern Studios 

featuring the Tattered Walls collection.

The background paper is The Sun Room.  I applied some masking and paint splatters.  Layering beneath the photo is from The Library, The Maids Room and pieces from the Ephemera packet.  I placed the Stone Cottage chipboard beneath the photo and left it untreated.  I just love this old photo of my mom and her brother.

Lots of flowers from Spring Lilies, Wanderlust Lilies, Wanderlust Vines and Moody Blooms.  I added some Dijon Glitter to the centers of the butterflies and art stones and Lemonade Seedlings on the flowers.

The title is untreated.  Love how it blends with the papers and embellishments.

Cherish - Blue Fern Studios

Hi everyone!  Hope you had a wonderful weekend.  It was a not one here and still is.  I did manage to get a little yard work done, but for the most part I stayed inside.  Took on the task of cleaning and organizing my craft room.  So much to go through and organize.  It certainly will be an ongoing project.  Today I have a layout to share that I created for Blue Fern Studios featuring their Tattered Walls collection. 

I used Carport (side B) for the background, and applied some pearl bordeaux mist and grey ink splatters.

I sprayed pieces from Lace 4 with a Precious Stone mist.  Beneath the picture I placed the Embellished Frame chipboard, embossed with Iris embossing powder.

I used the Precious Stone Mist on some lilies from Dark Tropic Lilies.  Tucked beneath the dark lilies I placed roses from Courtship Roses and some light purple lilies from Spring Lilies.  Red Grape and Lavender Seedlings were applied randomly on the flowers and around the photo.

Placed beneath the photo I added some fussy cut flowers from the Carolina Room Paper.  The title "Cherish" is from the Remnants printed chipboard.

Love This Moment - Blue Fern Studios

Hi everyone!  Sharing another layout created for Blue Fern Studios featuring 

their new collection, Tattered Walls.

 I used Apartment B paper for the background.  I built up layers under the photo using Garage (side B) and The Maids Room  and pieces from the Ephemera Pack.    I placed chipboard under and around my photo using A Spring Day and Glam Frame.  I felt that the raw chipboard complemented the background paper.  On each side of the photo I used a doily die cut and the Sun Room paper.  Tiny leaves were cut from the Library paper.

Tucked within the flowers from the Summer Blooms is the word Joy from the Ephemera pack.

I cut the title into two pieces and left it untreated.   More flowers from the Summer Blooms, Moody Blooms and Fresh Florals.

Our Story - Blue Fern Studios

Hi everyone!  

I'm back with another layout featuring the new Tattered Walls collection by Blue Fern Studios.

I used Suite 204  paper for my background.   I used The Maids Room and The Garage (side B) to build up layers under the photo.  

I embossed the title with Mushroom Embossing Power.  Lavender, Maroon and Gold Nugget Seedlings are used  in various places throughout the layout.

Here I've used a piece from the Ephemera Pack along with more Seedlings.

More from the Ephemera pack, the word Smile.  To the right of Smile is a white flower from the Spring Blooms.  I also used flowers from Chesterville Blooms and Wanderlust Lilies. Chipboard pieces on both sides of the photo were embossed with Mushroom

Family - Blue Fern Studios

Hi everyone!  Hope you all enjoyed your weekend.  It was a rainy one here, but it looks as though the coming week has some sun coming our way!  Today I have a layout to share that I created for 

Blue Fern Studios featuring their new collection Tattered Walls.  The collection definitely has a vintage look to it and I love all the new embellishments!

I used the Powder Room paper for my background and pieces from the Ephemera Pack to mat the photo of my mom and her brother.  I applied some light misting of blue along with splatter of black.  I love the randomness of the print on the paper.

Lots of beautiful flowers including the new Spring Blooms, Chesterville Blooms  and Memory Blooms. Love the subtle touch of purple on the new Spring Blooms.

Lots of new chipboard pieces with the new collection.  Here I've used the Briella's Mini Frames and Elegant Flourish.  Both were embossed with Black Sand embossing powder.

The chipboard title was embossed with a mixture of Black Sand and Azul embossing powders.  I applied some art stones along with Aquamarine Seedlings.
