Celebrate The Holiday

Good morning all!  It's cold and windy here today.  We've had our second snowfall in less then a week, both of which only gave us a few inches thankfully!  Love to look at it, but hate to drive in it!  The Christmas holiday has come and gone much too quickly.  I've still got decorations to take down but that won't happen for a few more days.  I managed to squeeze in some scrappy time yesterday to complete this layout using the December kit from Artful Delight and the Workout Sketch #82 from ScrapFIT.  I always enjoy working with the sketches Diana creates.  Here is my take on it:

 and here is Diana's sketch:
I cut the background using my Silhoutte Cameo and then punched
the circles from the Tis The Season paper by Simple Stories. Included in the December kit is the chipboard word "holiday" by Fabscraps which I painted with some Jenny Bowlin Malted Milk paint and them stamped with the Tim Holtz Merry Christmas stamp.
Love this cluster which includes some Maya Road ruffle blossoms from the kit along with some Purple Pumpkin embellishments.  I couldn't resist adding a badge of santa's belt that I got this holiday season from shopping at JCP.
For those of you that are interested in purchasing a December scrapbook or card kit from Artful Delight, you can check out the contents here and place your order.

You Are My BFF

Happy Thursday everyone!!!   Today is a special day for me, my birthday!  I'll spare you the details of what year I am celebrating.  Let's just say it's my 29th!!!  I've got a layout to share with you today that I made for my friend Julina using the August kit from Artful Delight and a delightful sketch designed by Diana  for Scrapfit's Workout #74.

and here is Diana's fun sketch:
This was a hard one for me . . . leaving all of that whitespace.  Normally I would be filling it with papers and embellishments, but once I got going on the layout, I embraced it and love how it turned out!

Cherish The Moments

I'm happy to report that my mojo is back and even though I'm not creating as much as I would like to, I'm enjoying getting back into the groove of things.  I have a layout to share with you today that I created using the August kit and sketch from Artful Delight.  I love the Basic Grey Paper Cottage papers in the kit.  They are whimsical and I love the doodling on them.  Speaking of doodling, Scrapfit's Warm Up #30 is all about doodling so I thought my layout would be perfect for their challenge.
I enjoy being able to create some layouts for my friend Julina.  Love this picture of her three kiddos!

I did my own twist on Artful Delight's sketch:
Create a layout using the sketch and enter it over at Artful Delight for a chance to win the September kit.

Here are a few closeups:
I love the mix of papers from Bo Bunny and Basic Grey, the chipboard embellishments  from Prima and Kaisercraft rub ons!   Don't you just love those cute buttons from the BG Paper Cottage Collection!! :)

Daughters are the sweet flowers of life

What a beautiful day today!!!  The weather here the last several days has been gorgeous.  Temperatures have been in the low 80's with a light breeze.  Unfortunately today will be the last of those days, as hotter days are ahead for us.  I've got a layout to share with you today that I just finished up for the Workout #70  Develop Your Own Polaroid at ScrapFit. I knew when I saw this challenge that I wanted to join as as I have lots of those good old polaroids from way back when.  I chose to work with two pictures of my daughter when she was only 6 months old back in 1990.  Love these pictures of her, even though they were a little hard to work with given the bright gold couch she is sitting on.

I used a mix of papers from Authentique's Delightful collection along with Graphic 45 Little Darlings, along with a lot of fussy cut work and several border punches.

Alright, time for me to go . . . lot's to get done around the house this morning.
Thanks for stopping by!

Flowers From My Garden Color Me Happy!

My mojo needed a major jump start and the April  Daydreamer kit from Scrapbook Circle helped with all of the bright and colorful Amy Tangerine Sketchbook papers, along with a couple of challenges,
ScrapFit's Workout #67 - Decorate With A Doily and Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge Garden Challenge.
I enjoyed using the framed paper from Amy Tangerine for the pictures of some of my favorite flowers!  You all know how much I love my flower gardens!!!
I love this collection and after receiving my kit, I ordered some additional papers and embellishemnts.  It's so out of my comfort zone, but I have to admit it's addicting!!
I used my Crafters Workshop Swirls and Flowers template to cut out some flowers and spellbinders Shapeabilities Foliage die for the stem and leaves
and added a bright and colorful orange doily for the ScrapFit Challenge,  purchased from The Purple Pumpkin

I dug into my container of rub ons and added a few to my layout:

I'm hoping now that I have finished this layout that more will be coming!!  Life has been
extremely busy and stressful for me lately and I do miss my scrappy time.
