Through The Branches

Hi everyone!
It's a cold and blustery day here in Maryland.  Today I have a canvas to share that I created
for a couple of October challenges.

I started off with a blank canvas that I wanted to mimic tree bark.   I added some Prima Brown Rust Effect Paste.  After it dried I added some fiber modeling paste to build up texture.  I applied various brown mists and inks until I got the right coloring and shading.

I was inspired to create this canvas with 2 October Challenges:

I love the color palette, and my muse is the ever changing Mother Nature.   I enjoy all of the seasons, but Autumn in my favorite.  From the leaves changing color, to dropping to the ground exposing the beauty in the structures of the bare trees and plants.

And at Scrapki-wyzwaniowo, Leaves.
I added lots of different leaves with various forms of texture.

A few close ups:

In  the above and below photos I used used dried seeds remnants from my Black Eyed Susan and Aster plants.

Beautiful

Hi everyone!  Happy Friday ........ so ready for the weekend!!!
I've got a layout to share with you today that I created for the July Challenge at Scrapki-Wyzwaniowo

The theme for the July Challenge is beauty.  I chose to scrap this picture I took a few years back of a bee on flower in my garden.  Love the beauty in all things nature.
I added lots of stamping and misting on the background paper and as always my favorite chipboard from 2Crafty Chipboard.

Here are a few closeups:
I embossed the Frame Lucy's Flourish with a mixture of Ebony, Fuchsia and Verdant
embossing powders.  The same was used on the Bubble Clumps.  The bottom left of the
picture is a piece from the Oriental Flower Stem, embossed with Verdant embossing powder.
I added some microbeads to the Bubble Clumps.

The title was embossed with a mixture of Ebony and Fuchsia embossing powders.
  Love the effect!

Tucked beneath the pink is a flower piece I cut from the Oriental Flower Stem,
which I embossed with Fuchsia embossing powder.

I'll be back in a few days to share another layout with you featuring chipboard from 2Crafty chipboard.

Thanks for stopping by!

Canvas For Scrapki-Wyzwaniowo October Challenge

I came across a blog  Scrapki-Wyzwaniowo and loved the idea behind their October Challenge, "In My Head."  My mind is cluttered with so many things, much of which I store away and some that are   continually on my mind.  Some thoughts are happy and cheerful, and some are sad and dark.  Made me think of a book, with chapters full of  twists and turns . . . so much like my life right now.  So I decided to create a canvas to some what resemble a book, with lots of pages, some happy and colorful and some sad and dark.

Lots and lots of layering with papers from Marion Smith Designs Motley and Mad Tea Party Collections, and bits and pieces of mixed media.  Here are a few closeups:
