Beach Babe, Featuring Seaside Cottage by Blue Fern Studios

Hi everyone!  Back today to share my third layout created for Blue Fern Studios featuring the new Seaside Cottage collection.  I've had the privilege of designing for Blue Fern for the last year and it's been a real pleasure to work with all of their fabulous products.  Seaside Cottage by far is my favorite collection.

My layout was created using the Glory paper for the background.  Love the colors on the paper.  I added some mint inking and mist to various areas on the paper along with some masking using a flower stencil.  Once I applied the modeling paste I sprinkled the flowers with some Petal Embossing Powder.  An added touch with some random stamping and paint splatters.  Lots of layering under the photo using Glory, Regalia, Splendor and Voyage papers.

I cut the Sea Shell Chipboard Frame in half to add some dimension to my layout.  I embossed it with a mixture of Petal, Snow, Mushroom, Sea Mist, Breeze and 14 Karat Embossing Powders.  Love the variation in the colors and how well they compliment the flowers,  Seaside Lilies, Attic Charm Daisies, Tranquil Lilies and Tranquil Blooms.

I wanted a soft look to the title Beach Babe.  To obtain the look I used a mixture of Snow, Petal and Breeze Embossing Powders.  I added some pieces from the Crackle Bits chipboard, embossed with Snow and Petal Embossing Powders under the Attic Charm Daisy.

A Walk On The Beach, Featuring Seaside Cottage by Blue Fern Studios

Hi Every!  Back today to share another layout created for Blue Fern Studios featuring their newest collection, Seaside Cottage. I how I wish I were walking along the beach right now.  Its been extremely hot here in Maryland, a good excuse to stay indoors!

This layout features the Relics paper.  Beautiful pastels and details on the paper.  I added some light inking behind my photo and added some flourish stenciling.  Minimal layering under my photo with the Glory paper, both sides.

To the left of the photo I used the Floral Spray chipboard which I embossed with Snow and Breeze Embossing Powders and a little Blue Ice Glitter.  Clusters of flowers including the new Seaside Lilies, Courtship Blooms, Tranquil Blooms and Tranquil Lilies.

Summer Vacation, Featuring Seaside Cottage by Blue Fern Studios

Hi everyone!  Hope you all enjoyed the weekend!  I know I did.  The weather was perfect, family and friends close at hand and lots accomplished. Hard to believe it's August.  Where has summer gone?  I'm up on the Blue Fern Studios blog today sharing my latest creations with the new collection, Seaside Cottage.  A perfect collection to capture those summer memories!

I enjoyed working on this layout and especially creating with the Seaside Cottage chipboard pieces and mixing various colors of the Imagine Ink Embossing Powders.  I created this layout for a good friend of mine.  Isn't that a fabulous picture!!!  I used the Gala paper for my background.  I added stars with a stencil which I sprinkled with some Mushroom and 14 Karat Embossing Powders and a few paint splatters. Lots of layering under the photo with Calling Cards and Splendor papers.

Love the Seaside Mermaid.  I embossed the body with Oatmeal Embossing Powder and added some chunky glass glitter and Caribbean Imagine Ink Glitter to the tail.

Look at these gorgeous new flowers from the Seaside Lilies and Seaside Roses collections.  I applied some Imagine Ink Blue Ice Glitter to the large blue rose.  Beneath the flowers I used the Seaside Flourish Chipboard.  Lots of embossing.  Grassy Knoll and Verdant Embossing Powders were mixed to create the vibrant green.  A mixture of  In The Navy, Seven Seas and Breeze Embossing Powers for the blue flowers. Tucked away in the lilies I used the Natural Springs chipboard set, embossed with Grassy Knoll, Verdant and 14 Karat.  The anchor was embossed with a mixture of Mushroom and 14 Karat.

The title Summer Vacation was embossed with a mixture of Mushroom and 14 Karat Embossing Powders.

The Floral Lattice Bits Chipboard was embossed with Mushroom and lightly ink with cranberry and purple inks.

The title is from The Optimist Word set, which I lightly inked with purple.  I used two purple roses from Courtship Blooms which I sprinkled with some Merlot Glitter and then misted a darker purple.

Dazzling - Featuring Serendipity by Blue Fern Studios

Hi everyone!  I'm back today to share another layout created for Blue Fern Studios, featuring the Serendipity paper collection.
This layout features the Glee paper from the Serendipity collection.   I added some  masking and paint splatters.  Layers  underneath the photo are from the Imagination paper and Keepsakes paper from the Timeless collection.  I had a lot of fun working on this layout mixing embossing powders to compliment my picture, which I took it a few years ago.  I have a big planter on my deck full of daisies.

The Blooming Flourish chipboard was embossed with a mixture of Verdant, Sage and Auburn embossing powers.  I cut the flourish in half and used it on both sides of my photo.  The Royal Monarch Butterfly and Mini Ring Things chipboard were covered in brown ink and then embossed with a mixture of Verdant, Auburn, Chili Power and Tangerine Embossing Powders.

The title is from the Brilliant, Amazing, Dazzling word set, embossed with the same mixture of embossing powers I used on the butterfly and mini rings.  I used a stencil on the background with some brown texture paste and sprinkled on some Autumn Glitter and Auburn embossing powder.

Remember, Featuring Blue Fern Studios Attic Charm

Hi everyone!  I'm back today to share another layout with you created for Blue Fern Studios, featuring the new Attic Charm collection.  I went vintage on this one, and created lots of texture on the background.

This layout features the Generation paper and a vintage photo that belonged to  my grandmother.  Not sure who the people are in the picture, but I love it, as they look so happy.  I couldn't help but wonder what the occasion was.   I added some texture to the background paper with some masking, misting with the Imagine Ink Sky Mist and some random stamping with the Romantic Accents stamp.  I added additional texture with torn pieces of paper doilies, some of which I misted with the Sky Mist, gold microbeads and some 14 Karat embossing power.  The layers under the photo are from Calling Cards.

I used two pieces of chipboard here, Treasured Floral Frame and Dangle Bird Ornament which I cut  apart. Both were embossed with a mixture of the Imagine Ink Snow, Mushroom and Breeze Embossing Powers, and  some Blue Ice Glitter. I also used the 14 Karat embossing power on the green leaves.  Love the shimmery look!

Lots of Blue Fern Flowers . . . Attic Charm Daisies, Attic Charm Glitter Roses, Courtship Blooms and Tranquil Lilies!  The small green Courtship Bloom I embossed with 14 Karat embossing powder.

My title is a new chipboard piece from the Attic Charm collection.  I embossed with a mixture of  Snow, Mushroom, 14 Karat and Breeze Embossing Powers along with a sprinkling of Blue Ice Glitter.  Love the aged look of it.

Love Is The Treasure, Laughter Is The Key

Hi everyone!  So enjoying the beautiful weather we have been having lately!  Lots of sunshine and warm temps!   I been taking advantage of the gorgeous weather by spending lots of time outside in the evenings working in my flower gardens.  Last week I shared the June sketch for Blue Fern Studios.  Today I am sharing the layout I created for it using the new Attic Charm collection.

I used the Curio paper for the background and added some random masking, inking, paint splatters and stamping with the Bourbon Street and Romantic Accent stamps.   I used the  Calling Cards, Attic Key and Haberdashery papers for layers under my photo.  The photo is my dear friend's sweet daughter.  I edited it to give it a Vintage look.  Clusters of flowers include the new Attic Charm Daisies and Glitter Roses, along with some leaves embossed with 14 Karat Embossing powder.  I added two metal butterflies to each side of my photo embossed with Oatmeal, Breeze and Cotton Candy embossing powders.

I placed a portion of the Iron Signage chipboard underneath my photo which I embossed with a mixture of Mushroom, Oatmeal and Breeze Embossing powders.  To the left you can see a heart and key which I embossed with Oatmeal and Cotton Candy embossing powers.  Tucked beneath the Attic Charm Daisy is the Crackle Bits chipboard, embossed with Mushroom, Oatmeal, Breeze and Cotton Candy embossing power and beneath the Glitter Rose is a Blooming Foliage chipboard piece embossed with Verdant embossing powder. Torn pieces of lace were tucked in various places to give some added texture.

Here I've used the Leafy Rings chipboard embossed with the same mixture of embossing powers as the Crackle Bits.  I added some pink and blue micobeads on the chipboard as well as on the background paper.

There is still plenty of time to join us for the June Sketch Challenge at Blue Fern Studios.  For inspiration from our design team and details on the challenge, click here
