Hi everyone!  I'm here with you today to share a layout I created using
Frosted Designs March kit, "A Moment In Time." I love the papers in this month's kit with the rich colors of turquoise, black and pink. I did a lot of fussy cutting, distressing, masking, misting and stamping.

I worked with a picture of my Mom when she was a little girl.  Love the innocence in the picture. I did a lot of fussy cutting and tearing and distressing!  I took some of the Tim Holtz Picked Raspberry paint from the kit and added it to a mister along with some water to do some subtle misting on my background.  I also used the paint to color some of the lace from the kit.  I also used the paint on the butterfly along with some Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals, Bachelor Button Blue from the Prairie Wildflower Magical set which you can find in the Frosted Designs store here.

Here I've added a cluster of flowers which include the pink Prima Soporano flowers from the kit along with a blue Kaisercraft flower from the store which I dabbed with some of the African Jade Silks Acrylic glaze from the kit.

We still have a few kits left in the store.

You can check out all of the contents here as well as placing an order.

I hope I have inspired you to create.

Perfect Moment

So loving that it is the weekend and a beautiful one weather wise!  After a long and bitterly cold winter it would seem as though Spring is making it's way here!  Temps near 60 degrees today and sunshine!  It's amazing how a warm day filled with sunshine can lift your spirits!  And speaking of lifting your spirits, a couple of March challenges, Scrap Around The World and Inkido have inspired me to create this layout:

I love the pink mood board at Scrap Around The World  for their March challenge, created by DT member Alexandra:
I was inspired by the layering on the dress, the flowers and touches of green.

Inkido also has a great mood board and March challenge hosted by Bellaidea:
I was instantly drawn to the pink and green gems and incorporated the colors and some small pink rhinestones into my layout.

I really got into an artsy mood with my layout and did some painting, masking, embossing, misting and stamping along with some watercolors, pens and gelatos on my background. I used a piece Bazzill Vintage Market paper on my background that started on like this:

Here are a few closeups:

I definitely think my mojo has made a return.  I've got lots of ideas spinning around in my head and can't wait to create.

Live Laugh Love Canvas

I really enjoy working with canvases.  Seems to be more of them lately then layouts, but I love the artistic approach I take when creating art using a canvas.  I've been working on this one over the past week and a half, a little at a time and finally finished it last night.  I was drawn to a couple of challenge blogs this month and really wanted to create!
This month at Berry71bleu Mandy is hosting a Mixed Media Challenge:
and Christin is hosting the February challenge at Scrap Around the World.
I love Christin's mood board! I was particularly drawn to the icing on the cake and created some layering with papers and lace on my canvas.  I was also drawn to the subtle touches of gold in the mood board along with the vibrant pops of fuchsia.

A few close ups:

I incorporated a lot of mixed media into my canvas including some modeling paste, gesso, mists, inks and paints.

I hope I have inspired you and as always thanks for stopping by!

My Sweet Honey

Hi everyone!  Are you tired of winter yet?  Had enough of the cold weather, sleet, freezing rain and show?  I know I am.  It's been a tough winter here in Maryland.   Today I have a layout to share that I created using
Frosted Designs February Shades of Spring kit and our new monthly kit challenge.  This month it is a recipe challenge.

Working with the beautiful papers and embellishments in the kit made my mind wander to what's ahead . . . warmer weather and the beautiful colors of the flowers that will be in my garden.

A few close ups:
I used the Distress Inks from the kit to color a few of my flowers.  Once I dabbed the flowers with ink I spritzed some water on them to even out the color and then pained them randomly with some Faber Castell Gesso.

Here I've tucked some of the pink tulle ribbon from the kit beneath my layering and beneath the tulle ribbon you can see where I used the Tim Holtz    Faded Dots stencil.  I randomly inked some of the dots with the Raspberry Distress ink.

I used the white Signo gel pen in the kit to add a little dimension to the printed flowers on the paper and added the wooden birdcage which I painted with some gesso.  I stamped the wooden bird with some pretty pastel blue ink.

I covered the wooden cherish word with the Tim Holtz Juniper Paint and then stamped over it and once dried, I randomly added some white gesso.

Please join us for Brandi's Kit Challenge, you can find all the details here and if you are interested in purchasing the February Kit, Shades of Spring,
you can find it here in the Frosted Designs store.

The Story Of Today

Hi everyone,  today I have a layout to share that I created using Frosted Designs January Love Is In The Air kit.

I love the colors in this months kit along with the kraft elements of the Maya Road tags and linen heart.   I love to cluster on my layouts and this months kit is packed with so many different bit and pieces.

I decided to change up the pink Petaloo flowers in the kit and used a Blood Orange Gelato to brighten them and tucked them beneath the white flowers.

I wanted to add some stamping to my layout and used the Blood Orange Gelato and colored over the stamp and then spritzed it with some water and stamped away.  Love the result:

We still have a few kits left in the store.  You can check out the kit contents and place an order here.
