Your Story Matters - Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone! Sharing a vintage layout I created with some of my favorite Creative Embellishments chipboard.  Ever since I received a box full of old photos that belonged to my grandmother, I've been drawn to create projects with old photos. This layout features a photo from Finnabair's Art Daily Vintage Photo Booth.  My go to chipboard pieces for vintage layouts are flourishes, and Creative Embellishments has a huge assortment of flourish pieces to choose from.

My background paper is from the Prima Marketing collection, Pretty Pale.  I added some paper texture paste with a checkerboard stencil to the background. Lots of paper layering and fussy cut work along with some pieces from a crochet doily.

I used  Flourish 30 at the top and bottom of my  picture.  I embossed it with a mixture of Ranger Tan Embossing Powder and Stampendous Shabby White Embossing Enamel.

Here you can see the other half of  Flourish 30.

I set the photo within the Flourish 9 piece, embossed with the same colors I used on Flourish 30.
To the right of the photo I used Flourish 28 which is smaller than  Flourish 30.  I added some white micro beads to the flowers and chipboard flourishes.

Always - Creative Embellishments February Challenge

Hi everyone!
Sharing my take on the February Challenge at Creative Embellishments.   This month we have a color challenge with a twist of adding lace.  I created a layout showcasing a vintage photo that I found in my Grandmother's box of pictures.

I started off by applying some texture paste to the background paper using a lace stencil.  Lots of paper layering underneath the photo.   As for the twist, add lace, I added bits and pieces of lace.

I centered the photo in the Flourish Heart Frame 1.  I used the larger of the two frames and embossed it with a mixture of Stampendous Shabby Pink and Shabby Rose embossing powders.

To the right of the photo and the bottom left I used  the larger piece, which I cut in half of  the
Flourish Set 17, embossed with the same colors as the Flourish Heart Frame 1

The title is from the Always Word Set .  I applied some white gold wax to the chipboard and then embossed it with Stampendous Shabby Pink embossing powder.

Here is the challenge image:

I hope you can join us this month and play along.  You can view the challenge here and see all the Design Team's projects.

Lovely - Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone!
Here today to share a vintage layout I created. for Creative Embellishments with their beautiful chipboard.   I was going through some of my older stash and came across a Prima Printery A4 paper pad, perfect for my vintage layout!

Lots of layering!
I think layers add so much dimension to a layout.  All of the paper edges were inked black.

In between the paper layers I placed the Baby's Breath and Flourish Set 27 chipboard.  I embossed it with some Stampendous Chunky Metallic Seasons Embossing Enamel  and added a touch of green ivory embossing powder.

Next to the photo I clipped a key chipboard and another piece of the Flourish Set 27 chipboard .  Both were treated as I mention above.

To the left of the photo I added a Mini Pocket Watch chipboard along with another piece of
Flourish Set 27.  I added some mini art stones, metallic micro beads and copper glass glitter to all of the chipboard and flowers.

Thankful Journal - Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone!  I 'm  sharing a  journal cover I created featuring some Creative Embellishments chipboard.   Fall is my favorite time of the year.  I love the colors of the leaves as they change and the blooming chrysanthemums in my garden.

Lots of layering and fussy cut work involved in the creating process.  I added some walnut ink to all of the edges of the papers. I used  a couple pieces of the Flourish 10 which I inked brown and added some olive, yellow and orange inks.  I wanted to capture the colors in the leaves as they change.

Creative Embellishments January Challenge!

Hi everyone!  Happy New Year!  Can't believe how fast 2018 went.
I'm here today to share my first design team project for Creative Embellishments January Challenge.   I made this canvas for a dear friend of mine and gave it to her for Christmas present.

I was inspired by the colors, textures of the wool sweater and mittens,  and all the sparkles. The twist for this challenge is to add snow.  I added snow texture paste to the pine cones and flowers.  Creative Embellishments chipboard used were Winter Frame SetChipboard Snowflakes and the title "Sparkle" is from the Snow Pretty Word Set,

So Dreamy

Hi everyone!  I've been wondering away from my usual layouts of late and enjoying creating canvases and tags.   I recently won a challenge at Creative Embellishments and receive my chipboard package and went to work right away to create this tag.

I used some papers from Prima's Wild & Free Collection.

Through The Branches

Hi everyone!
It's a cold and blustery day here in Maryland.  Today I have a canvas to share that I created
for a couple of October challenges.

I started off with a blank canvas that I wanted to mimic tree bark.   I added some Prima Brown Rust Effect Paste.  After it dried I added some fiber modeling paste to build up texture.  I applied various brown mists and inks until I got the right coloring and shading.

I was inspired to create this canvas with 2 October Challenges:

I love the color palette, and my muse is the ever changing Mother Nature.   I enjoy all of the seasons, but Autumn in my favorite.  From the leaves changing color, to dropping to the ground exposing the beauty in the structures of the bare trees and plants.

And at Scrapki-wyzwaniowo, Leaves.
I added lots of different leaves with various forms of texture.

A few close ups:

In  the above and below photos I used used dried seeds remnants from my Black Eyed Susan and Aster plants.
