Family Street - Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone!  I'm up on the Creative Embellishments blog today sharing an altered chipboard door.  I enjoy working with the larger chipboard pieces in the store.  For this project I used the chipboard Door.

Lots of layering with chipboard, flowers, lace and fussy cuts from Mintay papers.  I used several mediums on the door, including paint, waxes and inks.

My favorite chipboard in the store is the Flourish Set 10.  I'll admit I use it quite a bit on my projects.  I coated the pieces with some dark green paint and then dabbed on some white and rust paints.

Here I've used a piece from the Clock Keys.  I embossed it with rust embossing powder and dabbed on various colors of paints to achieve the "aged" look.  The tiny heart grapevine wreath I found at my local craft store.  To the right I used a piece from Door Knobs, embossed with rust and brown embossing powders.

Here is a view of the bottom of the Clock Keys.  To the left I used a couple of pieces from Simple Hinges, embossed with rust and brown embossing powders.

Beneath the Family St. sign I used a piece from Mini Houses, embossed with a mixture of brown embossing powders.  Lots of little pieces were added from my stash.

Creativity Is - Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone!  I'm up on the Creative Embellishments blog today sharing a vintage layout featuring lots of Creative Embellishments chipboard.  The store has quite and assortment of large shapes and I wanted to incorporate a couple of them on my layout.  I used Fleur de lis Circle and Butterfly

The background paper is from Blue Fern Studios Jane's Memoirs collection and I added fussy cut flowers from Mintay's Life Stories and Old Manor collections.  I first applied a layer of clear gesso to the background paper.  Once dried I sprayed some Tim Holtz Tattered Rose Distress Spray Stain.

I treated the Butterfly chipboard with a mixture ivory and pale blue embossing powder and then lighting dabbed on some brown paint.

I used the Fleur de lis Circle at the base of my design.  I embossed it with a mixture of ivory and brown embossing powders.  I backed the piece with some brown netting.  Tuck within the flowers I used pieces from Ivy Sprigs embossed with a mixture of ivory and green embossing powders. Beneath the Ivy Sprigs I used a piece from the Lacey Border, embossed with a mixture of ivory and light blue embossing powders.

Love the assortment of  Keys.  I used a mixture of ivory and gold embossing powders.

To the left and right of my design I used Flourish Set 17, embossed with a mixture of ivory and gold embossing powders.  Once my layout was completed I added some splattering of off white paint.

Woodland Scene - Creative Embellishments November Challenge

Hi everyone!  It's the first of the month and a new challenge at Creative Embellishments.  I love this time of the year.  It's cooler outside and the leaves are changing colors and quickly dropping to the ground.  I created this decorative wooden piece, which actually are pieces of bark from trees in my orchard.  I used the following chipboard pieces from the store Circular Twig Frame
Frond Set 5,  Twigs, and Autumn Leaves. All of the chipboard pieces were inked with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink and dabbed with various colors of paint.

 Here are some close ups:

Here's the challenge picture, and the twist add a quote.

I hope you'll join us this month.  Stop by the Creative Embellishments blog for inspiration from our design team and details on the challenge prizes.

What You Seek Is Seeking You - Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone!  I'm up on the Creative Embellishments blog today with this vintage steampunk tag.  I love the variety of steampunk chipboard pieces in the store and paired several of them with papers from Stamperia's Voyages Fantastiques papers.

Lots of layering with papers, flowers and chipboard.  All chipboard pieces were embossed with Stampendous Aged Bronze Embossing Enamel.

At the bottom of the tag I used the Steampunk Clock Corner, which I cut into 2 pieces. Along with the Stampendous Embossing Enamel I added a little color with Seafoam and Sea Mist Embossing from Blue Fern Studios.

Here's another view of the bottom of the tag and the Steampunk Clock Corner.

At the center of the tag I used the Mantle Steampunk Gear Time Piece.

To the left of the Mantle Steampunk Gear Time Piece I used the female piece from Victorian Wind Up 1.  Beneath the layering I used the Steampunk Chain and Gears Frame.  Tucked within the layers I placed an acrylic gear from Mirror Acrylic Gears Bronze.

To the right of the Mantle Steampunk Gear Time Piece, I used the male piece from
Victorian Wind Up 1 along with more acrylic pieces from Mirror Acrylic Gears Bronze.  I added some flowers from my stash along with flowers I made using papers from the Stamperia collection.

Life Moments - Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone!  I'm back with another project designed for Creative Embellishments featuring their fabulous chipboard.  I enjoyed working with papers from Mintay's Life Stories paper collection paired with several pieces of chipboard from the store

There are a lot of elements in the paper collection for fussy cutting.  Lots of layering with paper and chipboard.

At the base I used a piece from Vintage Hinges, embossed with Stampendous Aged Bronze Embossing Enamel and dabbed with Prima Art Alchemy Silver Spoon Metallique Paint.  Tucked in the layers is a piece from Arched Windows, treated with the same technique as the Vintage Hinges.

There are several designs in the Keys chipboard set.  Here I've used one, along with a piece from the Wavy Film Strips , embossed with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Powder.

Here I've used a piece from the Simple Hinges

At the base I used a piece from Industrial Hanging Light Bulbs.  To finish off my project I simply added a few flowers.
