My First Design Team Projects For Blue Fern Studios

Hi everyone!  So excited to share my first DT projects for Blue Fern Studios with you today!

I used papers from the Deja Vu Collection, Luminaries, Lustre, Tresors and Petities Cartes, along with the Butterfly Damask, Quartre Foil and Special chipboard.  Love the gorgeous colors and details in the papers.

My next two layouts I used papers from the Love Story collection.
The details and colors in this collection are beautiful.  I used Amazing Heart, Sweet Song and Calling Cards, along with Flutter Medley, Photo Arches and love chipboard.

Love this old picture of my mom and her little brother.  The Amazing Heart, The Grand Ball and Calling Cards papers from the Love Story collection were perfect for photo.  I embossed the Brick Ring, Spring Trinkets and Deva Ju Dangle chipboard with some Stampendous Shabby Pink Embossing Enamel.

You can find more details on my layout here at Blue Fern Studios.

Friday, May 22, 2015

Hi everyone!  It's Friday and for those of us living in the USA that means a three day weekend, with Memorial Day being celebrated on Monday. The weather is suppose to be sunny and perfect for a cook out. I've got a layout to share that I created for 2 challenges.  I used sketch 139 from Sketchabilities and the May 2015 Mood Board at Scrap Around The World.
I used papers from Prima's Epiphany collection along with several shades of Shimmerz Inklingz, some stamping and lots of flowers.

A fabulous sketch from Sketchabilities:

and a colorful mood board from Scrap Around The World.
I was inspired by the colors, the sprinkles on the martini glass ( I used micro beads on some flowers), the black and white animal print (black and white butterflies), the fabulous shoes ( lots of pink pearls) and the flowers.

Hope everyone has a fun filled weekend!

Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #12 - May Flowers

It finally feels like Spring now that the warm weather has arrived.  A day here and there with some rain makes a perfect scenario for May flowers!    The new challenge at The Mixed Media Monthly Challenge is  "May Flowers" challenge!  For the month of May, we ask that you create something with flowers.

I created this canvas using Tim Holtz Stamps by Stampers Anonymous.  This canvas is a tribute to my Mom who passed away last December.  She was my go to person when I had questions about my flowers.

We have a fabulous sponsor this month
We're SO excited to announce our awesome May sponsor and prize! The generous people at Stampers Anonymous are offering two prizes that each include a Dina Wakley Stamp set and Stencil set!!!

Sunday, April 26, 2015

Well, it's been a few weeks since I've posted anything.  I've been busy with work and my free time has been devoted to getting my flower gardens weeded out and ready for planting.  The weather here has been chilly and I'm patiently waiting for warmer weather.  I've also been trying and I do mean trying to get my scrap room in order.  Way too much scrappy supplies and it is so hard to part with anything.  Yesterday I came across a Special Delivery box I had ordered a while back from Prima filled with papers from their Bird Song Collection.  I was inspired by the Mojo Monday sketch over at the Flying Unicorn and created this layout using an old pic of my mom and her little brother, which I love and have used several times on layouts.

Here is the beautiful sketch that inspired me:

I will be back later this work to share my project for the May challenge at
The Mixed Media Monthly Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!

Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #11 - April Showers

Spring is upon us and so are those rainy days.  I'll take the rain any day over the snow.   The new challenge at The Mixed Media Monthly Challenge is "April Showers" !  For the month of April, we ask that you create something having to do with rain. This could be umbrellas, rain boots, clouds, rainbows, etc.... use your imagination and get creative! Be sure to tell us how you incorporated something "rainy" into your project!

We have a fabulous sponsor this month

We were all fortunate enough to be supplied with products to use by DecoArt this month.  I watched several videos on their site (which you can find here) and was amazed at what you can do with their products.   I created a canvas.  April is the month where you still see visible signs from winter but pops here and there that Spring is here.

I wanted to mimic the colors in tree bark and used DecoArt Crackle Paste.  After it dries it leaves a great cracked appearance.  I then randomly painted with some DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylic paint in Burnt Umber, White and Yellow.  After the paint dried I applied a coat of DecoArt Antiquing Cream in Carbon Black.  Absolutley love this stuff.  After it dried I took a baby wipe and wiped it off, leaving the black in all of the cracks.

Here are a few close ups:

Three random winners will receive a prize package of DecoArt products similar to the picture below.

Please stop by the blog here for some inspiration from our design team along with our special guest designer, Zuzu - A member of the DecoArt International Design Team.

We would love to see YOU use our sketch as inspiration for a layout. We have very few rules for our Sketch Challenge. As a matter of fact, we have just one rule, we want your layout to resemble the sketch. Feel free to flip or rotate the sketch, but we do want to look at your layout and be able to see that you used the sketch. Other than that, you are free to use anything you have in your personal stash, and we welcome all styles of scrapbooking.

We will award two prizes for this sketch challenge. The first prize will be a collection of paper, flowers, chipboard, and embellishments selected by C'est Magnfique's owner Deonna. The winner of the prize package will also be able to shop in the C'est Magnifique Store, and have their purchases sent with the prize package, so that means you won't have to pay for shipping!

Our second prize, a $10 gift certificate to the C'est Magnifique Store, will be awarded randomly to one of our participants who obviously uses one of our kits to create their Sketch Challenge layout.

We will also choose 5 (or maybe more) layouts to feature on our blog!
You have the entire month of January to submit your layout.

What do you have to do to enter our sketch challenge?

1. You must be a follower of our blog. It's easy to become follower - see the left sidebar.

2. Create a layout using the sketch, and add it to our blog using the Inlinkz tool below. Please link to the blog post where you have uploaded your layout (not your general blog address). If you do not have a blog, you may link to an online gallery.

The deadline for entering the sketch challenge is midnight, April 30, 2015 (US time).
Have fun with the sketch. We can't wait to see how you use it!

Thanks for stopping by!
