Just At The Moment - Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone!  I'm up on the Creative Embellishments blog today sharing my latest project featuring lots of Creative Embellishments steampunk chipboard.  The store has quite a variety of chipboard and stamps to choose from.

I used papers from Stamperia Clockwise collection.  I used the Steampunk Gear Corner Stamp on the background and applied Stampendous Aged Bronze Embossing Enamel.  From there I built up layers using various pieces of chipboard. Pieces of gears from Create Your Own Cluster Set were used.  Some I embossed with Stampendous Aged Teal Embossing Enamel and others with Ranger Turquoise Antiquities Embossing Powder. At the center of the project I used Steampunk Clock Face 3" along with  Clock Hands,  PropellersScrew Head Set and a piece from Steampunk Keys.  All chipboard pieces were embossed with Ranger Turquoise antiquities Embossing Powder.  At the top and bottom I used a piece from Chain Border, embossed with Stampendous Aged Bronze Embossing Enamel.  Finishing touches were applied to the chipbard using various colors of Prima Wax, Blue Lagoon, Bronze Age and Vintage Gold.

Unique - Creative Embellishments September Challenge

Hi everyone!  It's a new month and a new challenge at Creative Embellishments.   I love the moodboard this month.  So many elements to choose from. I was drawn to the windows and doors.

I used the Large Window for the base.  I used a mixture of paint and Prima Mini Art Stones to achieve the texture on all of the chipboard pieces, along with various colors of Prima Rust Paste, paints and waxes.

Here's a close up of the Large Window and Large Key.

I love the rusted look of the Large Key, along with Door Knockers and Simple Key Hole Plates.  Behind the Tim Holtz Idea Ology Paper Doll I used a piece from the Arched Windows Set 2.

Papers are from Craft O Clock Hazy Street collection.  I added a couple of pieces from Grunge Roman Numerals.  Lots of layering and fussy cutting to add additional elements

Here's the mood board, and the twist, add rust.

I hope you'll join us this month.  Stop by the Creative Embellishments blog for details on the September Challenge and more inspiration from our Design Team.

Put yourself in the way of Beauty - Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone!  I'm up on the Creative Embellishments blog today with a canvas inspired by the beauty of the outdoors. I've been busy outdoors keeping up with the weeds in my flower gardens.  We've had a lot of rain the past couple of months.  My plants are flourishing and so are the weeds.   One of my gardens has Black Eyed Susans and Daisies blooming my inspiration for my canvas.

I started off with a blank canvas.  I applied some stamping on the canvas using a daisy stamp. I colored the flowers and leaves with Lindys Magicals, Pineapple Paradise, Glory of the Seas Gold and Sea Mint Green.  I stamped some random black dots and then added some random dots using Lindys Magical Glory of the Seas Gold.   Lots of layering with some Creative Embellishments Chipboard, flowers and Tim Holtz Idea Ology die cuts.  The picture is from Finnabair Words You Need sticker book.

At the top of the canvas I used a piece from Flourish Page Corner.  I embossed it with a mixture of Green Ivory and  Buttercup embossing powders by Blue Fern Studios.  I lightly dabbed the chipboard with Finnabair Victorian Green Impasto Paint.  I cut the chipboard into 3 pieces and placed two of them above the butterfly.

At the base of the canvas I used Flourish 7,  finished the same as the Flourish Page Corner.  Beneath the photo sticker I used the third piece cut from the Flourish Page Corner.  To the right of the canvas you can see pieces from Distressed Grid Pieces.  I embossed the pieces with a mixture of Ebony and Buttercup embossing powder by Blue Fern Studios.  Additional pieces of the Distressed Grid Pieces were placed on the canvas.  Finishing touches include some flowers, lace, Spanish Moss and art pebbles.

Bloom - Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone!  I'm up on the Creative Embellishments blog today with another project.  I love the new large circle chipboard in the store and went with the Chicken Wire Circle .  I wanted to create a garden theme project.  I recently purchased some Mintay by Karola paper collections and used the Old Manor collection.

Lots of layering, flowers and chipboard.  I started off by embossing the Chicken Wire Circle  with a mixture of  white, black and auburn embossing powders.  I used a paper from the Old Manor collection to back the circle.

Love the Birdhouses chipboard!  I embossed it with oatmeal and auburn embossing powders, and then dabbed it with some white gesso and added some Prima Burlap Impasto paint to give it an aged look.

Here I've used Flourish 7, embossed with oatmeal and sage embossing powders and dabbed with Prima Victorian Green and Burlap Impasto Paint along with a touch of Prima Vintage Gold Wax.

Another flourish piece here,  Flourish 21.  I applied the same technique as used on Flourish 7.

Lots of flowers were added, along with some fussy cut elements. Prima Art Stones and some microbeads.

Under The Sea - Creative Embellishments August Challenge

Hi everyone!  Hard to believe it's August already.  Given what we've all been through, the months have flown by.  The 1st of of the month  means a new challenge at Creative Embellishments. We've got a bright and bold challenge this month and below is my take.

I had a lot of fun creating this under water project using lots of chipboard from the store.  I used the following pieces, Round Ship Window Frame, Mermaid Artist Trading Card/Coins, Coral, Seaweed 2, and Seaweed 3.  All of the chipboard was treated with various colors of Prima Metallique Paints and Waxes.  I added some purple moss, glass glitter and pearls.

Here's the August Challenge, and the twist is to use scallops.
Hope you'll join us this month.  Stop by the Creative Embellishments blog for more inspiration from the design team.

Celebrate - Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone!  I'm up on the Creative Embellishments blog today sharing a project using one of the new floral lattice panels. I wasn't able to join the challenge on the first of the month, but thought it would be fun to create a project based off the July Challenge.  There's still plenty time to join us!

I used the Floral Panel 2 as the background.  I covered it with gesso and the embossed it with white embossing powder.  I then dabbed it with some Mint Prima Impasto paint and Finnabair Metallique Ancient Coin paint.   I used papers from Mintay Celebrations, Prima Flowers and of course, Creative Embellishments chipboard.

I used two balloons from the Balloon Set 1.  Both embossed with a mixture of Baby Pink and Sea Mist Embossing Powders.

To the right of the balloons I used the smaller heart  from Flourish Heart Frame 1, embossed Baby Pink

The title is from Celebrate Word Set.  I embossed it white, then added some Finnabair Metallique Ancient Coin Paint and some gold glitter.  For the finishing touches, I added some flowers, gold tulle, gold microbeads and sequins.

There is still time to enter the July Challenge.  I was inspired by the birthday cake!  Stop by the blog for inspiration from our design team.
