How Long is Forever - Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone!  I up on the Creative Embellishments blog today with over sized tag full of lots of Creative Embellishments chipboard. I recently purchased several paper collections by Stamperia and chose to work with their Time Is An Illusion collection.  I found it to be mystical and timeless.  I incorporated several pieces of Creative Embellishments into the design.

On the base of the tag I used some lace from my stash which I sprayed  with a couple of colors and then added some Prima Art Alchemy waxes and copper glass glitter.  I then built up layers with various papers.  I inked all of the edges with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.

Here I used a chipboard piece from Small Intricate Frames.  I stamped it with some Distress Oxide Ink in Peacock and Stormy Skies.  I then applied some Prima wax in Antique Gold and Red Amber and some bling.  I cut a piece from some sequined netting I had in my stash and glued it to the back of the frame.  To the left of the frame I used Heart Dangle 3.  I stamped it with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink and added various colors of Prima Wax in Antique Gold, Rich Copper, Red Amber and Peacock.   To the left of the frame I used the Mandala Lotus.  I treated it with the same technique used on the Heart Dangle 3.  I cut the Mandala Lotus in half and placed the other half on the lower right hand side of the tag.

I used a butterfly from Butterflies (Set of 5).  I used the same treatment on the butterfly as I did on the Small Intricate Frame.

On both sides of the tag I used the Flourish 20.  I used the same treatment on it as the frame and butterfly, but also added some Lucky Emerald wax.  I cut the flourish into 3 pieces and placed them about the tag.  Beneath the Mandala Lotus I used a piece from the Mosaic Panel.  I used the same treatment on it as I did on the Mandala Lotus. To finish off the tag I added some flowers and seedlings.

Creative Embellishments November Challenge

Hi everyone!  It's the first of the month and that means a new challenge at Creative Embellishments.   I created this Autumn Clipboard.  I used lots of my favorite chipboard pieces, papers from Stamperia's Time Is An Illusion and lots of Prima Art Alchemy waxes.

We've got a fabulous mood board this month.

I was inspired by the colors, textures, pumpkins and leaves. The twist this month is to add wood.

Here are a few closeups:

Creative Embellishments has a large assortment of Autumn inspired chipboard in the store.  Love the Pumpkins.  I inked them with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink and applied some Prima Art Alchemy waxes in Firebird and Rich Copper.  I used Fire Ruby, Lucky Emerald and Aged Brass on the leaves.  Beneath the Pumpkins I used a piece from Ceiling Medallions which I dabbed with Aged Brass wax.

Here I used pieces from Leaves Set 1.  I applied Prima waxes,  the same colors as the pumpkins leaves.
To the left is a piece from Purple Plant, also covered with various shades of Prima Art Alchemy waxes.

Here is another view of the top of the pumpkins.

I hope you'll join us this month!  Hop on over to the blog for lots of inspiration and the low down on the prizes!

Autumn Inspired Shadowbox - Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone!  I'm up  on the Creative Embellishments blog today with an Autumn inspired shadow box.   I took a walk around my property last weekend and gathered some bits and pieces of tree bark, acorns and dried flowers.  My initial intent was to create a canvas with the items and then I came upon a shadow box I had purchased and thought it would be perfect to capture the essence of Autumn.

I started off my lining the bottom of the box with pieces of bark from my Crepe Myrtle tree.  Next I layered some papers and then added lots of Autumn Creative Embellishments chipboard.

Here I used the new Cotton chipboard pieces.  Love them!  I dabbed them with Ranger Antique Linen Distress Ink and then dabbed on some Prima Vintage Gold wax.   To the left and right of the Cotton I used the Daisy Cluster chipboard piece which I cut in half.  I inked it with Ranger Tea Dye Distress Ink and dabbed it with Prima Fire Ruby Wax.  I filled acorn caps with seedlings which you can see to the left of the Cotton.

Love the Autumn Leaves chipboard.  I used several pieces from the set.  I inked them with a variety of Ranger Distress Inks, Walnut Stain, Vintage Photo, Tea Dye and Antique Linen.  I then added Prima waxes, Vintage Gold, Aged Brass, Bronze Age, Rich Copper, Fire Ruby and White Gold.

Beneath the bird at the top and on the right hand side of the box I used pieces from Tree Rings
which I dabbed with Prima White Gold wax.

Adventure Is Waiting - Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone!  I'm up on the Creative Embellishments blog today with an over sized tag,  steampunk style. Creative Embellishments has a huge assortment of steampunk chipboard.  I used papers from Stamperia Voyages Fantastique.

I started layering various pieces of papers along with elements that I fussy cut.  Tucked within all of my layers are steampunk chipboard pieces from the store, embossed with WOW Bark embossing powder.

At the center of the tag I used a piece from the Steampunk Antique Bikes.  After embossing I applied a mixture of Prima Art Alchemy Waxes in Brass, Rich Copper and Mint Sparkle.

On the bottom of the tag I placed several pieces from Gears 1 along with Steampunk Clock Face 3" which I cut in half.  I added various colors of Prima Art Alchemy Waxes to all of the chipboard.

Beneath the layering I placed the Steampunk Pipe Corner.

At the top of the tag I added the other half of the Steampunk Clock Face 3" along with more pieces from Gears 1.  I placed a Tim Holtz Idea-ology paper doll on the bike and fussy cut some wings from the Stamperia paper.

Creative Embellishments October Challenge

It's the first of the month and that means a new challenge over at Creative Embellishments!
Here with my take, an over sized tag.  I love this time of the year.  It is normally cooler and the leaves begin to change colors. Autumn is my favorite time of the year. But here in Maryland it has been in the 90's and the leaves are still green.

There's a fabulous mood board for this month's challenge, created by DT member Sandi Clarkson.
I was inspired by several elements of the mood board, the colors, the wreath, the clothes pin, and the twist add lace.

Here are a few closeups:

Love Knows No Distance - Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone!  I'm up on the Creative Embellishments blog today sharing this layout featuring a photo of my grandparents.  I love the candid shot of the two of them.

I used papers from 49 and Market's Captured Adventures collection along with some of their flowers and pieces from their Laser Cut Shapes Frame Set  2 and 03. I started off by applying random stamping on the background paper and then lots of splattering in various Shimmerz Inklingsz colors  Next I built up layers and added some fabulous Creative Embellishments chipboard and lots of beautiful flowers.

Beneath the photo I placed the Old World Map Small which I covered with Stormy Sky Ranger Distress Oxide Ink.

Love is from the Love Arrow Set.  I covered it with Stormy Sky and Concord Grape Ranger Distress Oxide Inks.

Top, bottom, left and right of the photo I used the Distressed Punchinella, which I cut into pieces.  I covered it the same as the other chipboard pieces on the layout and then added some random stamping.

At the top of the layout I used  the Nautical Compass, inked with Black Soot Ranger Distress Oxide Ink.

Lastly, adding the finishing touches, lots of 49 and Market flowers and some grey mesh ribbon!
