Words - Creative Embellishments April Challenge

Hi everyone!  Hope all of you are well and staying safe.
It's a new month and that means a new challenge at Creative Embellishments.  We've got a beautiful
Spring inspired mood board this month and of course the twist, add metal to your project.  I created a shabby chic vintage tag using papers from Ciao Bella's The Muse collection.

Here is the April Mood Board:
I was inspired by the flowers and the heart shape back of the chair.

I covered my tag with papers and inked the edges with some Tim Holtz Vintage Paper Distress Ink.  From there I built up layers with papers and chipboard.  On the base of my tag I used the Viney Flourish Frame, which I covered with some green paint and bronze wax.  I then added some dabs of pink paint and topped the chipboard piece off with some stamping using the Distressed Script Stamp and added various colors of micro beads.

I used two pieces from Curly Hearts.  Both pieces were embossed with a mixture of light pink and brown embossing powders.  Next I added flowers, lace and more micro beads.   For the twist, I added a couple of metals brads along with two decorative metal pieces.

Hope you'll join us this month.  Check out the blog post here for inspiration from the design team and details on the prizes.

Thanks for stopping by!

Time Machine - Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone!  I'm up on the Creative Embellishments Blog today sharing a steampunk over sized tag.  The Creative Emellishments store has an abundance of steampunk items, including stamps, stencils and chipboard.  I used 9 different chipboard pieces on my tag.

I used papers from Stamperia's Voyages Fantastiques paper collection. I built up layers using chipboard and some fussy cut items from the paper collection.  All of the chipboard pieces were inked with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink and embossed with various colors of Stampendous embossing powders.  I added some Prima Wax and dabbed on some paint.  This month we are collaborating with Rinea Foil.  I used foils from the Rinea Foil Earth Tones to back various cogs on my tag.

Look at all of this fabulous chipboard.  I used a key from Steampunk Keys, a piece from Gear Cluster Set on the right side of the tag, along with Mini Pocket Watches, and pieces from Gear Set 2 Medium.

At the base of the tag a used a piece from Large Gear Frames and above that I used the Steampunk Clock and Gear Cluster.  On the center of the tag I used a piece from Magnifying  Glass Goggle Set. On both sides of the tag I used screws from Screws, Bolts, Nuts, Washers.

To the right of the hot air balloon, I placed a piece from Propellers.

I had a lot of fun creating this tag.
Thanks for stopping !

Find Your Loveliness - Creative Emellishments

Hi everyone!  I'm up on the Creative Embellishments blog today with an over sized shabby chic tag.  Spring is in the air, the daffodils are blooming and the plants, trees and bushes are emerging from their winter sleep.  I love this time of the year, so I thought I would create a tag full of beautiful blooms.

I used papers are from the Prima Marketing Pretty Pale collection along with some Tim Holtz Idea-ology die cuts, lots of pretty flowers and of course beautiful Creative Embellishments Chipboard.  I covered he base of the tag with paper and added some stamping.  Next I built up layers with papers and die cuts.

At the base of the tag I used the Circle Vine Frame.  I embossed it with some Stampendous Aged Ivory Embossing Enamel.  After embossing I randomly dabbed the chipboard with some pale pink paint.

Tucked within my paper layers I used a piece from Doily Frame Set 1 and to the left of the tag I used Flourish 2, both were embossed with Stampendous Aged Ivory Embossing Enamel and dabbed with pale pink paint.

Thanks for stopping by!

Creative Embellishments March Challenge

Hi everyone!  It's March 1st and time for a new challenge at Creative Embellishments.    We've got another fabulous mood board this month, filled with lots of bold and vibrant colors.  The twist, add glitter.

I was inspired by the colors and the flowered gown.  I used a piece from Triptych 3 which I covered with paper.  I added some texture with a stencil, modeling paste and various colors or paints and mists.  I added layers using some cheesecloth, lace, flowers and  Ribbon FrameVine Corner and  Dress Form Set of 3. I added some prills, micro beads and glitter around my flowers. This month we are collaborating with Rinea Foils.  I added some small purple flowers which I punched from the Pastels Foils Variety Pack and I used a blue piece from the Frosted Foil Variety Pack. I used a die and cut a small circular floral frame and placed it around the center flower.  Beneath the center flower I used a Prima die and cut two flowers, one purple and one blue from the foil variety packs.

Here is the March mood board:

I hope you'll join us this month.  Can't wait to see what you create.  Stop by the blog here for inspiration from the design team.

Charm Tag - Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone!  I'm up on the Creative Embellishments blog today with an over sized tag.  I'm hooked on these tags.  Love that you can add so many different elements, textures and my favorite chipboard pieces.  I was going through my never ending stash of flowers and came across some purple ones that I had purchased quite a long time ago and thought I would create a tag with a combination of purple and yellow.

I used a couple pieces of papers from the Electric Charm collection by Blue Fern Studios.  Love the bold colors and designs in this collection.  I built up layers using papers, chipboard and lots of flowers.  I added some US Artquest Prills I Cannot Tell A Lilac.

I love this new Lacy Border chipboard.  I embossed it with a couple shades of purple embossing powders, added some Prima Vintage Gold Wax and dabbed on some pale yellow paint.

On the right side of the tag I used the smaller pieces from the Photo or Page Corners Set 4.  I embossed them with a mixture of Tim Holtz Distress Vintage Photo and some Blue Fern Studios Auburn embossing powders.  Tucked beneath the flowers I used a watch from Mini Pocket Watches, embossed with the same technique as the Photo or Page Corners Set 4.
I used pieces from Feathers chipboard at the bottom of the tag.  I embossed the feathers with the same technique used on the Lacy Border.

There's still time left to enter our February Challenge.  Check out the inspiration from our design team here.

Thanks for stopping by!

A Single Dream Tag - Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone and Happy Valentines Day to all!  I'm up on the Creative Embellishments blog today with a romantic over sized tag.  I went with a color palette of blue, peach and pink rather then the traditional red.

I used papers from Stamperia's Wonderland paper collection.  I started off by covering the base of my tag with with paper.  I used a rose stencil on the background along with some modeling paste.  Once dried I added various colors of mists in shades of blue and peach.  I dabbed some Prima Vintage Gold Wax on the roses.  I added some random stamping with my favorite Creative Embellishments Stamp, Distressed Script Stamp.  From there I built up layers using some fabulous chipboard from the Creative Embellishments Store

On the center of the tag I used the Flourish Clock which I embossed with a mixture of distressed brown and peach embossing powders.  I inked pieces from Mini Leaves Set 2 green, and added some vintage gold wax and tucked the pieces in with the flowers.

Above you can see the top of the Flourish Clock along with Flourish 19 .  I love the aged look to the pieces.

The Flourish Clock rests on the medium piece from the Braided Frames.  I used the same mixture of embossing powders, but added from Prima Turquoise Satin Wax.
