And here is my interpretation of Di's Mood Board, a 9 x 12 canvas:

I was inspired by the colors,  the flowers, and the overall feeling of life and the journey we all take.  What a ride!!!  A few closeups showing some details:

Lots of beautiful embellishments, most of which I found, including the beautiful white frame in the bargain bins at my local Michaels craft store.

Celebrate Life . . .

Today I have a canvas to share that I made with an incredible amount of love, along with shedding many tears for my beautiful mother who is in the end stage of alzheimers.    All that she was is gone.  I will always remember her for the simple pleasures that she loved.  The smell of a flower from her garden, a gentle breeze blowing, the sun shining,  and the birds that once gathered at her bird feeder.  I wanted to capture the simple things in life that she loved . . . flowers from her garden, a key to unlock the front door of what a one time was her home,  butterflies that could always be found in her garden and most of all the simple gesture of a smile.  She had the most beautiful smile and was always so happy.  Her laugh was contagious and her smile would always brighten up anyone.   I know for myself I take life for granted when it comes to the simple pleasures of life.  It has only been through my Mom that I have come to realize that I need to be thankful for the little things in life.  Celebrate each day and enjoy life and live in the moment.  Simply put . . . Celebrate Life!

I was inspired by a couple of challenges when I created this canvas.  The May Epic Anniversary Challenge at Scrap Around the World, with a beautiful moodboard created by Helen Tilbury.  I drew my  inspiration from the the word celebrate,  the colors, the bow and  the doilies on the presents.  The background of my canvas was created using the Tim Holtz doily stencil and I included a couple of crochet doilies.   Many layers and lots of mists, paints, inks and embossing.  I love the gold on the bottom of the balloons and used some Stampendous Shabby Pink Embossing enamel with the little flecks of gold.

I was also inspired by the May challenge at Berry71bleu, Simply Pleasures and their moodboard.

I was inspired by the beautiful flowers and butterflies.

Dreams Canvas

Today I would like to share a canvas I created for the May Moodboard Challenge at Molossi.

I was instantly drawn to the gorgeous colors of the Molossi Moodboard, along with the butterfly.  If you  know me, you know my love for butterflies and flowers!

I used some of the left over Marion Smith Nirvana papers and embellishments from 

Frosted Designs April Kit, Beauty Of Nature, along with some embellishments from my ever growing stash.  Here are a few closeups:

Here I did some masking and added some Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals in Mission Bells Brown and added some African Jade Silks Acrylic Glaze.

I covered some chipboard with Donna Salazar Mixed Media Schoolhouse Ink and then stamped an image on it.  I covered the butterfly with some of the Lindy's Mission Bells Brown Magicals.

A Prima Burlap flower misted with some Lindy's TiffanyLou Blue Starburst spray from their Try Me Set - Tiff Blue.

May Challenge For Scrap Around The World!

How exciting  to be sharing my first DT project for Scrap Around The World! Each month for the next 8 months I will be sharing a canvas for each of the monthly mood boards.   The May Challenge is hosted by Helen Tilbury and what a fabulous mood board for Scrap Around The World's first birthday!  Make sure you stop by to get all of the details and to see the new Design Team's reveal here.

A Framed Layout

Hi everyone I've got a layout to share with you today that I made using Frosted Designs April Kit, Beauty Of Nature.  Love this kit, packed full of papers from 7 Dots Studio's new Nature Walk Collection and Marion Smith's Nirvana collection.  I ended up making an 8 x 10 layout of my grandparents that I framed.
