Sweet Summer Day - Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone!  I'm up on the Creative Embellishments blog today with this beach layout.  I was looking through a box of old photos and came across some beach photos from 2000.  Every summer we would take a family summer vacation to the beach in New Jersey.  My kids had a blast playing with their cousins. 

Papers and laser cuts are from 49 and Market Vintage Artistry Shore.  I used lots of beach themed chipboard and wood veneer from the store along with paints and ink.  As always, lots of layering. All chipboard was treated with paint and ink.

My inspiration for this layout was the Camera chipboard.  I inked the chipboard with some Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink and stippled on some DecoArt Americana Bittersweet Chocolate paint. On the left sife of the camera I used a piece from Seaweed 3, painted with DecoArt Americana Sea Glass, FolkArt Terra Cotta Shale Green and Matte Linen paints. Resting on top of Seaweed 3 is a piece from Coral Set 3 painted with Folk Art Terra Cotta Clay Pot and Dusty Trail paints and stippled with DecoArt Americana Bittersweet Chocolate paint.  Along the bottom of the camera I used pieces from Coral Set 2 painted with Tim Holtz Distress Frayed Burlap paint and stippled with Bittersweet Chocolate paint. On the right side of the camera I used a piece from Seaweed 2 painted with DecoArt Americana Desest Sand and Warm White paints.  I framed the photo with a piece from the Film Strip Picture Frame Set, painted DecoArt Americana Cocoa paint and Folk art Matte Linen paint along with some Walnut Stain ink.

Here's one of the smaller frames from the Film Strip Picture Frame Set.  Shells from Seashells were painted with DecoArt Americana Warm White paint. I tucked in some coral spanish moss in various places on the layout.

I painted a wood veneer wheel from Boat Wheel Set of 6 with DecoArt Americana Cocoa paint and stippled on some Bittersweet Chocolate paint.

I used a wood veneer piece from Compass Rose Set of 6, painted with Frayed Burlap paint and stippled with Bittersweet Chocolate paint.
