Yankee Doodle Doggie

It's Friday and  that means a new challenge over at Frosted Designs.  I'm hosting this week's challenge of Stars and Stripes, Red, White and Blue.  Head on over to Frosted Designs where you can read a little bit about me and see what our talented DT has done with this challenge.

Now I will admit that at first I did  not have a clue what I was going to do with this challenge, as I was sure that I did  not have any patriotic pictures, or papers.  I was looking through my piles of scrapbook kits that I have purchased and came across the April kit I had purchased from Scrap Attack.  To my delight I found these papers by Glitz.  Then I remembered that a few years ago I had taken some pictures of Zoey right after I had brought her home from her trip to the grooming salon.  They had tied a patriotic bandanna around her neck, and she sat ever so patiently for me as a dangled a treat in front of her as I snapped some pictures.
I hand cut the banner, backed it with some blue paper and cut the backing with some decorative scissors.  I took some small white rick rack and inked it with cyan ink.  I also added some larger white rick rack to the striped paper which I  inked with some brown ink to tie it in  with the distressed look of the  paper.

The backing behind the photo is actually a backing from a Jenni Bowlin product, which I cover with paper and then inked with dark brown ink.  The July calendar is by Jenni Bowlin.  The little round wooden game piece was a part of the Scrap Attack April kit.
I found the sheet music to Yanee Doodle, printed it out and added Doggie using Quickutz Mini Studio alphabet.  The adorable image of the boy pulling a wagon with the dog was cut from the Cricut cartridge A Child's Year.

We have a great July prize this month over at Frosted Designs.

All you need to do is enter your projects in our weekly challenges.  At the end of the month one lucky person will win this beautiful assortment of scrapbook goodies.   Enter as many times as you want.  The more your enter, the better chance you have of winning.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.  Have a safe and happy fourth of July weekend!
