Home Sweet Home

This layout is my first project as a Design Team member over at Frosted Designs.  Their challenge this week is to use chipboard on your project.  I chose to do a layout of my house. The paper I used is all by Basic Grey, Boxer Collection.  I thought the color scheme went well with my Spanish style house.  I had a lot of fun working on this layout.  It gave me the opportunity to use my new Cricut Serenade cartridge.

The large chipboard flourishes are by Fancy Pants.  I chose to paint them brown.  I then punched some scalloped sqaures from some thin chipboard.  I punched several of them and then layered them.  I then covered them with patterned paper and added HOME using Ashlyn's Alphabet by Cricut.

The dainty blue border at the bottom of the page is actually a doily paper by Basic Grey.  I punched several different sizes of circles and added them also at the bottom of the page.

Along the top of the page I punched out a brown border using my Martha Stewart Doily Lace border punch.  I inked the edges and added some blue brads, and then backed it with more of the Basic Grey Doily paper.

I cut the bird and the tree from my new Cricut Serenade cartridge.  I love this cartridge.  It has a lot of cute trees, birds and butterflies on it.

The flowers were in my stash.  All I did was add blue brads to the center.  The leaves were cut using a Quickutz die.  I did a lot of inking on the layout.
