Picture Perfect

Hi everyone!  Hope you've been enjoying the weekend.  I know I have!  I just completed a layout I made for a couple of challenges.  It's been awhile since I've participated in any and there were a couple that caught my eye, the Mixed Media &Texture Challenge at Picture This Challenges and the January Challenge at Words & Paintery
I used papers by Blue Fern Studios, lots of flowers from my stash and 2Crafty Chipboard

Here's a little info on the challenges:
Create a project and incorporate mixed media and textures. I did a lot of stamping on my background paper, along with some inking, misting, paint splattering as well as some stenciling.

Love the color scheme for the January Challenge at Words & Paintery. I also took to heart the written part of the challenge.  I remember years ago when my marriage was falling apart I was told by someone that you stick with it, even if you aren't happy.  That's the way it should be.  Nevertheless my marriage did not last.  When I saw the picture I used on Pinterest it made me think of the couple in the picture.  Obviously in their golden years and wondering what obstacles they faced in life and what made them stay in it for the haul.

Here are a few closeups:

That's it for today.

Don't Let Anyone Ever Dull Your Sparkle - 2Crafty Chipboard

Hi everyone!  I'm back to share my second DT project for 2Crafty Chipboard.
I love this photo of a dear friend's daughter.  She has such a sweet smile.
I used various papers from The Bo Bunny collection Winter Wishes along with some Prima flowers
and of course 2Crafty Chipboard!  I did some light misting and inking on the background paper and added some masking using a snowflake stencil.

On both sides of the photo I used a flower doily chipboard embossed pink.  Beneath my flower cluster is one of Brooke's Swirls  embossed with icicle powders and tiny silver microbeads.

The right of my photo I placed a flower doily chipboard along with Breanna's Swirl chipboard, embossed with icicle powder and tiny silver microbeads.

Love this title!  A perfect compliment to the sweet photo.  I embossed with light pink and icicle embossing powers.  I added some paint splatters to the background paper along with some bling.

Well, that does it for today.  I've got a project I've been working on for a challenge blog that I hope to have finished soon so I can share it with you this weekend.

Thanks for stopping by!

Just Love Our Story Featuring 2 Crafty Chipboard

Hi everyone!  So glad the weekend is here, even though it is miserable outside.  Temps are above normal, but its foggy and there is a constant mist of rain.  I guess I really can't complain as I tolerate the rain much better then snow.  Hard to believe that we've yet to have any measurable snow.  Today I have a layout to share with you created for 2 Crafty Chipboard.  So honored have been chosen as a member of their design team.  Lots of lovely chipboard to create with!
I love to create romantic, shabby chic layouts with lots of layering, mixed media flowers and of course chipboard! I started off by adding some inking to the background paper along with some masking in pink and copper tones.

I used several pieces of chipboard here, 2 of Addy's Butterflies and Ava's Frame.  All were heat embossed with a mixture of copper, pink and antique taupe embossing powders.  I added some peony pink stenciling mousse as well on the pieces.

On the right hand side of my layout I used the Ella's border chipboard treated in the same fashion as the butterflies and frames.  I added some copper microbeads.

I love to mix embossing powders.  My title is a combination of pink and antique taupe powders.
Love the aged look!
