So Thankful

I'm jumping for joy as the sun came out today!!!
I forgot what blue skies looked like.
Tropical Storm Lee hit the Northeast hard and did not want to leave.  We endured 5+ days of rainfall.
Never thought in a million years that in a two week time period that I would experience an earthquake, hurricane and tropical storm!
I've got another layout to share with you that I created using the September kit from Artful Delight and Celebration Challenge #3 at The Paper Variety - Scrap your favorite photo.
Yes that's me and yes my hair is in pin curls!
I rarely scrap myself, but love this old photo.  It brings back so many childhood memories.

When I saw the chipboard piece by Crate Paper, Bobby Pins
5 cents, I was hoping that I would find an old picture of me.  My dad insisted when when my sister and I were little that we looked like proper little ladies.  Every night my mom would put our hair up in pin curls.  I hated it!! I was the good daughter and kept them in.  My younger sister was quite the opposite and always pulled them out. I was so excited to find this picture to scrap! I titled it So Thankful because the picture of me was at Christmas opening a present.  I thought after I finished the layout I really should have title it So Thankful I Don't Have To Wear Pin Curls Anymore!

Everything I used on my layout is in the September kit with the exception of the Jenni Bowlin buttons and October Afternoon alphas.    I've been on Leeanne's DT for 11 months now and this kit is my favorite!  If you would like to see the contents of the kit and order one, just click here.
Don't forget to save the date:
There will be lots of challenges and prizes!!!
Thanks for stopping by!

Looks like you've had a very bad luck with the weather! I do hope it's all over now, and peaceful days are ahead.
Your lo is simply gorgeous! The photo is so sweet, and I agree with you that you should be thankful for not having those pins in your hair anymore... LOL
I love the dp and embellishments on your lo. The colors are perfect and give a very warm feeling.
Take care!

I love the dimension in the layout and I hope your parents got a picture of you when the pin curls were taken out. (I remember those)
