Well it's definitely been a week of wild occurrences here in Maryland. Tuesday we were hit with an earthquake. Initially very scary, as I did not know at first what was happening. The noise was loud and I thought something in my basement was getting ready to exploded. The next thing I knew, the noise got louder, things started to rattle and then I could literally see my house shake. I grabbed the dog and ran outside. Never thought in my life I would experience an earthquake of that magnitude here in Maryland.
Hurricane Irene is headed my way and who knows what will happen. As I sit here and type this I realize that when you all read this it will already be tomorrow (8/28). As long as I do not lose my electricty I will update this to let you all know how things went over the evening with the hurricane.
UPDATE:
Hurricane Irene still lingers here a little this morning. Light rain and moderate winds.
I woke around 3 in the morning to some very powerful winds that took down a very large tree branch in my side yard. Fortunately the branch that came down was away from my house and deck, and my mailbox was blown off it's post. We were without power for a few hours, but now it is back on. I was very fortunate and my thoughts go out to those who were effected by the wrath of Irene.

I do have a card to share! One I made for my mom.
An I have mentioned in earlier posts, my mom has been diagnosed with advanced dementia. Each day I see a little more of her memory slip away. I make a point to see here each and everyday, hold her and tell her that I love her. I hope she enjoys my card.
I used the August scrapbook kit from Artful Delight. There are a few kits left and if you are interested in ordering one, you can do so here.
Here are a few closeups:
For those of you in the path of Hurricane Irene, I will pray for your safety.
Thanks for stopping by!
