Just a quick post here to share a layout I made using the current sketch over at Sketchy Thursdays.
I love this picture and am amazed that I was able to capture the butterfly. It took a a lot of patience and several attempts.
I used my July kit from Artful Delight and ventured out of my comfort zone and used the Maya Road, Maya Mist in Earl Grey which was included in the kit. I will have to admit that this was my first try at masking. I was quite nervous that I might mess up, but am pleased with the outcome.
I punched out small scalloped circles to make these pretty flowers.

It's been a hectic couple of weeks for me. I've been occupied with taking care of my mother and have not had much free time. I started last night trying to play catch up on everyone's blogs. Be patient with me and I will be sure to stop by and pay you a visit.

Your first attempt at masking turned out great- love the photo of the monarch how pretty. Love the colors on your layout also. Well enjoy the summer days as best as you can- there is always time for scrappin in the cooler months ahead, and hope your mother feels better.
