I'm still here, just a little overwhelmed

I just wanted to let you all know that I still do exist in the land of blogs, even though I have been absent lately.  Sometimes life gets a little too hectic and priorities take over blogging.  My sister and I have been quite busy lately taking care of my mom, who for the time being has been diagnosed with an advance case of dementia. We've had her in to see many specialists and so far the testing has not brought us any further diagnosis.  It is a challenging time for the both of us, as the children have had to step up and become the parent.  I treasure each day I spend with my mom and each phone call I share with her.  I am saddened with the loss of her memory and scared as it seems to be all happening so quickly.
I haven't worked on a layout for over a week and a half, but managed to find some time last night to work on a DT assignment which I can't share with you until Tuesday,  but for the time being here is a little sneak peek:
I also wanted to share with you all this sweet award my fellow DT member at Frosted Designs,  Debbie Bakk sent me:
Thanks Debbie for thinking of me!
There are still a few days left to enter a project at the Sketch Along Tuesdays Challenge at Frosted Designs.  You can check it out here.  We have a fabulous prize for this challenge, oodles of handmade embellishemnts by Debbie Bakk:
Thanks for being patient with me.  I'm trying my best to get around and visit all of you and catch up on what you have created!
Have a great weekend!
Thanks for stopping by!
. . . Debbie

Aw, Debbie! My heart goes out to you. Having just been thorugh this with my own mom, I know how tough this can be. Right now, just take care of you and your family and treasure the time you have with her. Even the difficult days will later on become a memory that you can hold on to and see from a different perspective. Take photos .. even if everyone looks a fright. Even if no one sees them but you, it is still evidence of the great bond between you. I look back at pix of my mom and see how frail she was but also see that she was clinging tightly to me and it warms my heart. Thoughts and prayers are with you!!

It's ok. Our lives are more important than our blogs. I miss seeing your work, but will look forward to seeing it again soon. You are blessed to have a wonderful mother, and she is blessed to have a wonderful daughter. Stay strong. Prayers going up for your family.

Debbie, I'm so sorry to hear about your mom and I think you should enjoy all the time you can with your mom! My friend has a mother going though the same thing and there are moments when she seems totally all there! So enjoy everyone of those moments and remember all those GREAT times shared!
Many Blessings for you and your family:)

Debbie, I am sorry to hear about your mother, and will pray for your family. I understand the heartache that dementia can bring, I take care of the elderly and know how difficult and scary it can be, hang in there!
