Home Is Where The Heart Is

I have really enjoyed playing along with the sketches over at The Scrappiest.  I love the clean simple design to Liz's sketches and to this week's sketch # 113:
Here is sketch #113:
I am working ever so hard at embracing the idea that I can complete a layout that is less detailed as most of mine are and still have a beautiful layout.  I love how this layout turned out, but I will admit that the amount of white space on it bugs me.  I keep telling myself that it is okay.  I look at layouts that others have done that leave a good amount of white space, and I think their work is beautiful.  Why is it though, when it's mine, I feel it looks uncompleted?
Here are a few close ups:

The picture is of one of the houses my mom lived in when she was little in Canada.  The little boy in the picture is her younger brother, my Uncle Bryce.
I used the April kit from Artful Delight on my layout!!!  Everything on my layout is from the kit with the exception of the October Afternoon Mini Market Alphabet stickers.
I just love this month's kit.  It is packed full of Pink Paislee, October Afternoon and My Mind's Eye papers, along with lots of cute embellishments!
I can tell this one is going to be a fast seller!  If you are interested in purchasing one, you can order it here.
It' still cold here.
It rained Thursday and Friday.  The weekend doesn't promise to be a very good one weather wise.
I'm going to get a few chores done around the house and have a weekend of scrapping!

I had to take a double take to make sure I read it right who's layout this was...not your signature work-but I love it!!!! I cannot step out of the box to do a white space yet I would not feel comfortable with the outcome- but this is just right. Have fun scrapping this weekend.

You rocked the white space! I love your take on the sketch and it is wonderful to see you scrap such an old photo. That is really what it is all about, preserving memories.

Hi Debbie!! Your take is amazing!! I love the clean look of this. It is so striking!!! I agree that leaving white space can be a challenge, but the result is so worth it! :)
