A walk on the beach

One can never get enough of the beach . . . sun, sand and the surf!  I came across this picture of all the cousins in the family taking a walk on the beach at Avalon, NJ, back from 1998.  Avalon was the summer vacation for the whole family for over 20 years.  If you notice all the kids are wearing their Avalon t-shirts.

We have a new sketch today over at Sketches In Thyme.  Another great sketch by Helen Croft over at Scrap A Little.
When I first saw this sketch it reminded me of a painting.  I decided that I wanted to try something new, so I purchased some burlap to use as the backdrop for my photo.  I even added some paint.
Almost all of the paper on this layout came from Little Yellow Bicycle Boardwalk collection.
Now if you've ever taken a trip to the Jersey shore, the one thing you always see flying over the ocean, is a plane with some sort of advertisement flapping behind it.  I couldn't resist adding this cute little wooden airplane I found at Michaels and adding some Jenni Bowlin banners to it.

I haven't been to Avalon since 2002.  I hold many precious memories of those times and a thankful that I have the pictures to keep those memories alive!
Thanks for stopping by!
. . .  Debbie

Debbie, this is truly stunning dear friend, you are so creative, you think outside the square and have rocked this, the burlap (which is so hard to find over here) looks amazing and the memories you have of Avalon are recreated in this layout so perfectly, you make me want to visit, it looks great there. The picture is awesome too, how hard is it to get this many kids in a photo normally, great work. You are an awesome out of the box scrapper. PS. lol re: the comment about your 23 yr old son with housework, I bet you have brought him up just so well, you would be a wonderful mum. Melxx

I forgot to mention I am sorry I forgot about the time difference when waiting for Purple pumpkin, and it is hard because sometimes I miss out also, she does have some awesome stuff, if you knew what you wanted I could always get it for you, but in saying that I am never sure what Sam is putting up. I think setting the alarm is the best bet but maybe if you suggested to Sam a little later in the night to reveal, I am not sure of your time differences over there.
