Santa Was Here

I can't believe that a whole week has gone by and I haven't done any scrapbooking.  My creativity went AWOL and it was driving me crazy!  Last night I was laying in bed and an idea popped into my head.  Thank goodness!

I found myself again looking through old photos.  I believe that the magic in Christmas is what he get through our kids.  It was so magical when my kids were younger.  I surely miss those days.  I guess that is why I find myself gravitating towards old photos lately.  I came across this photo last weekend.  This was taken 15 years ago, back in the good old days when they still believed!  I was married at the time and my husband took a pair of his hunting boots and put them in the dry ashes in the fireplace.  He made footprints coming out of the fireplace and across the room to the Christmas tree.  The kids were so excited when they woke up Christmas morning!  What a thrill!

I based this layout on the current challenge over at StuckOnUSketches. http://stuckonusketches.blogspot.com/search/label/Challenges

The paper I used was by Fancy Pants, Christmas Magic, and Deja Views.

The Santa boots are Jolees.  I placed them right above the ashed footprints in the photo.

I have had these rub ons forever.  They are by Daisy D's.  I loved that line of paper and was sad when they went out of business.

I found the wooden Santa at Joanns after Christmas.  The list and bag and holly are all Jolees, which again I have had forever.  It felt good to use up old supplies.  The ribbon is American Crafts and the decorative border is by K and Company.

I used Cricut cartridge Christmas Cheer to cut out the Christmas tree.  I inked it with some moss ink and added some buttons and flat backed pearls. I also used Cricut cartridge Street Sign for part of my title.

The Santa part of the title are glitter letters by Making Memories.  Some of the additional rubons on the layout are by Fancy Pants.
