Simply Lovely

I'm glad it's the weekend!  Lots to do in a couple of days that always see to fly by, but I appreciate the weekends now that I am back working again.  I've got a layout to share that I created using the November kit and layout sketch from Artful Delight, along with the November #4 challenge board at 1 2 3 Get Scrappy.  I went diagonal with their board and incorporated a stencil/mask, circles and leaves.  I created this layout for my dear friend and best hairdresser ever.  A sweet picture of her and her husband.

For more details on the Artful Delight November scrapbook kit you can check out the details here.

I'm working on another project, a canvas which I will share with you later on this week.  Seems like I've gotten my mojo back and am excited to be back into my hobby!

Life's Journey

My poor neglected blog and hobby. . . As most of you know it's been a rough couple of years for me and so many changes in my life with my Mom's illness.  I've traveled a path of pain and sorrow for the losses in my Mom and have now embraced where she is at and realize that it is all in God's hands.  I miss the Mom I had terribly and there isn't a day that goes by that I would give anything to sit down and talk to her. To hear her say I love you.  All that made my Mom the wonderful loving and caring person she was is gone.  All that is left is a shell that holds a lost person.  I've learned that the brain is so powerful and when it doesn't work as it should it takes so much away from a person.  I am not the same person I was a year ago and am painfully working to find myself.  I struggle with my creativity and I worry that it's lost.  I don't want to give up, but struggle with how I hold on.  I've neglected so many of you and for that I am sorry.  I always felt like my blog friends were my second family.  I thought about taking some time off but fear if I do that I will never come back.  I am fortunate that the design teams I am currently on are understanding of me and understand where I am  in life.  A big thanks to Leeanne and Barb for being there for me.   I realized the other day that I had created a layout for the October sketch challenge at Purple Pumpkin that I never posted on my blog.  I guess better late then never.

I am working on a couple of projects.  What use to take me a matter of hours to complete now can take days.  I am hoping to get them completed and posted this month.

Thanks to all of you that understand where I am at in life.  You never know where the path will take you or what it may hold.  One day at a time . . .

Shadow Box

I know it been a few weeks since I've posted a project and paid everyone a visit.  I've been busy, busy, busy.  I'm delighted to say that after being out of work for 2 1/2 years I finally got a job!  It has been a hugh adjustment for me.  So  . .  between work, home and my mom, my free time is very limited.  I'm excited to share my project with you today.  Frosted Designs now offers a monthly Mixed Media/Paper kit.  I'm the kit coordinator and had a a lot of fun picking out the contents for our very first kit.  The kit's mixed media product is paint.

You can find more details about the kit here along with the kit subscriptions.

I knew when I received my kit that I was going to make a shadow box to
give as a gift to a special friend of mine.

I love all of the little details and the pops of pink.  To see more of my kit reveal please
stop by Frosted Designs.

I'm so excited to be guest designing today at 13 Arts!  Back in June I won their monthly challenge and Ayeeda sent me a package full of 13 Arts products to work with.  I worked with the beautiful All Is Collection along with some pretty flowers and some amazing mists.  I love their mists!  So rich and vibrant.

My layout was created using their current September challenge.  There are still a couple of days left to enter the challenge.  You can find all the details here!

Just The 2 Of Us

Lots of new things have been happening over at Frosted Designs!  They have opened an online store with lots of great products.   You find all the details here and enter for a chance to win one of two prizes.  It's my turn today on their blog and I am sharing a layout I created using  products from their online store.

I chose to work with the beautiful collection Shabbylicious by Fabscraps.  Love these papers!  They are perfect for any type of picture, but I decided to go with an old photo of my Mom and her brother.

Here I have added a cluster and used products from Kaisercraft Paper Blooms , an Um Wow Flair and a Fabscraps sticker.

I added some circles using the Heidi Swapp Confetti Stencil and some Golden Molding Paste.

What I love about the Heidi Swapp Confetti Stencil is that it has scattering of circles, stars and hearts on it.  Here I have added some hearts.

Please make sure you head on over to Frosted Designs and enter for a chance to win a prize.  While you are there make sure you sign up for their newsletter.

Starting in October they will be offering two kits for sale.  A Scrapbook Kit and a Mixed Media Paper Kit.  I'm thrilled to announce that I am the Mixed Media Paper Kit Coordinator.  I have been putting together some unique kits that offer products for those of you that are new to mixed media, as well as seasoned mixed media artists.  I can't wait to share the first kit with you next month.

I Love Your Smile

I decided to go through a box of old pictures of my kids, as it seems like ages since I used any of them on my layouts and came across one of my son.  He was so little and so darn cute.  He still has the sweetest smile and dimples that I am sure will melt the heart of any girl and has grown into a  handsome young man.  I used my September kit from Artful Delight along with their September Layout sketch.

You can find all the details of the kit contents here as well as the sketch layout challenge.  We also are having a detail call.  All the details can be found in the link above.

Walking In The Forest

Happy September 1st!
Can't believe how fast this year has flown by.  I am hosting the September Challenge at Berry71bleu this month.  It's a sketch challenge.  I designed the sketch and in addition to using it I ask that you incorporate some mixed media into your project.  We have two great sponsors this month, Maja Design and The Porkchop Show.  Each member of the DT was given the Walking In The Forest collection by Maja Design to work with this month.  Here is the layout I created.
Love this photo of my Grandmother combined with the pretty papers from the Walking In The Forest Collection.

Here I have used some chipboard from Scrapiniec, who sponsored our DT.  I also used the new Prima mask Lace Doily #1 by Finnabair.  Love this mask!

I incorporated a lot of stamping in my layout using Kaisercraft stamps and inks.

Please come by Berry71bleu here to check out of the details for the September challenge and then create a project for a chance to win on of our prizes this month.

Thanks for stopping by!
