I love the summertime, as it is the time of year when all of my flowers, trees and bushes in my yard bloom.  I spend a lot of time outside tending to my yard and love to sit out on my front porch and enjoy the view.  Back in the Spring I had cut back a lot of branches on my Crepe Myrtle and worried after I had finished that I might have cut too much.  Crepe Myrtles are late bloomers (end of July) and I was amazed at how beautiful it is this summer.  I've never seen so many blooms on it before.  The August sketch challenge at
Once Upon A Sketch is up and the theme for August is "Season" and I chose to scrap about my beautiful Crepe Myrtle, in all it's glory this summer.
As always there is a gorgeous sketch to work with designed by Nadia:

and tucked beneath the doily is my journaling:

I broke out of my comfort zone and did a little embossing on my layout using the Stamper Anonymous Floral Tattoo stamp set designed by Tim Holtz .
I used some more of Webster's Pages Everyday Poetry along with some bits and pieces of other collections, Ladies & Gents, Western Romance and Life's Portrait.  I had recently purchased some K & Company and Recollections die cuts that I found at Michaels in the clearance section that I added for a little pop of color.
Thanks for stopping by!
