Hi everyone! It's September 1st and that means a new challenge is up on the Creative Embellishments blog.
I create this canvas using lots of Creative Embellishments chipboard. While going through the thought process of my design I can across a purple ticket in my stash. I knew instantly that I wanted to use it and worked my design around the color of the ticket. I began by lightly stamping the background of the canvas. I built up layers using various bits and pieces from my ephemera stash.
Here is the September mood board. Be inspired by one of the elements and the twist is to add circles. I was inspired by the bottom picture of the planets.
I used a Tim Holtz Paper Doll. Love the studious look on the boy's face. I placed a piece from the Magnifying Glass Goggle Set over his head and another piece to the right over the ticket. Both pieces were embossed with gold embossing powder and dabbed with Prima waxes in Indian Pink and Vintage Gold. I added stars from Star Pieces, embossing with gold and adding Prima waxes. Behind the boy is a piece from Nested Rectangles which I dabbed with some Ranger Distress Oxide Stormy Sky Ink and Ranger Walnut Stain Distress Ink. Behind the stars on the right is a number piece from Steampunk Artist Trading Cards.
On both sides of the canvas I used pieces from Distressed Circle Pieces. I added some pink mica flakes and Prima copper glass glitter.
