Thankful Journal - Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone!  I 'm  sharing a  journal cover I created featuring some Creative Embellishments chipboard.   Fall is my favorite time of the year.  I love the colors of the leaves as they change and the blooming chrysanthemums in my garden.

Lots of layering and fussy cut work involved in the creating process.  I added some walnut ink to all of the edges of the papers. I used  a couple pieces of the Flourish 10 which I inked brown and added some olive, yellow and orange inks.  I wanted to capture the colors in the leaves as they change.

Creative Embellishments January Challenge!

Hi everyone!  Happy New Year!  Can't believe how fast 2018 went.
I'm here today to share my first design team project for Creative Embellishments January Challenge.   I made this canvas for a dear friend of mine and gave it to her for Christmas present.

I was inspired by the colors, textures of the wool sweater and mittens,  and all the sparkles. The twist for this challenge is to add snow.  I added snow texture paste to the pine cones and flowers.  Creative Embellishments chipboard used were Winter Frame SetChipboard Snowflakes and the title "Sparkle" is from the Snow Pretty Word Set,

So Dreamy

Hi everyone!  I've been wondering away from my usual layouts of late and enjoying creating canvases and tags.   I recently won a challenge at Creative Embellishments and receive my chipboard package and went to work right away to create this tag.

I used some papers from Prima's Wild & Free Collection.

Through The Branches

Hi everyone!
It's a cold and blustery day here in Maryland.  Today I have a canvas to share that I created
for a couple of October challenges.

I started off with a blank canvas that I wanted to mimic tree bark.   I added some Prima Brown Rust Effect Paste.  After it dried I added some fiber modeling paste to build up texture.  I applied various brown mists and inks until I got the right coloring and shading.

I was inspired to create this canvas with 2 October Challenges:

I love the color palette, and my muse is the ever changing Mother Nature.   I enjoy all of the seasons, but Autumn in my favorite.  From the leaves changing color, to dropping to the ground exposing the beauty in the structures of the bare trees and plants.

And at Scrapki-wyzwaniowo, Leaves.
I added lots of different leaves with various forms of texture.

A few close ups:

In  the above and below photos I used used dried seeds remnants from my Black Eyed Susan and Aster plants.

His Heart Full of Bright Hopes

Hi everyone!  Today I have a tag to share that I created for the More Than Words Mini Challenge.   Create a Card, Tag, ACT or Postcard and use the word bright.  It felt great to use a lot of my older papers and flowers, all by Prima.

Along The Passage

Hi everyone!  Hope you're enjoying the weekend.  Today the weather was gorgeous.  Temps in the 70's and lots of sunshine.  A welcome change from all the rain we've had lately.  I got the itch last weekend to work on a canvas.  Something I haven't done in awhile.  I saw the September challenge at Creative Embellishments and got inspired and decided to play along.  Here is my canvas.

I love the mood board at Creative Embellishments:
I was inspired by the textures and the overall theme of discovery.  It made me think back when I was young and would take long walks along the nature trail with my dad.   He loved the outdoors and was quite the expert in plants and insects.  I can remember how much fun it was to find leaves, small rocks and I especially loved seeing all of the beautiful ferns. The added twist to the challenge (something I discovered), is that I had some Creative Embellishments chipboard in my stash.  Over the past 3 1/2 years I had designed for 2 different chipboard manufacturers and designed with their products.  I had a drawer full of chipboard that I had purchased  awhile ago and was excited when I came across some of Creative Embellishments chipboard.  I used Flourish 15 and Ivy Sprig.  I also discovered a small box full of metal embellishments I forgot I had along with some old lace.  A lot of the pieces on the canvas I've had some quite some time.  It was fun going through my stash and discovering things I forgot I had.

Here are some closeups:

Enjoy the rest of you weekend!  I think I'm going to work on another canvas!

Be Yourself - Blue Fern Studios

Hi everyone!  I'm back to share another layout created for Blue Fern Studios.   This one features an older collection, Garden Life.

I applied some inking on the background along with some masking. The background paper is Wallflowers (Side B). Lots of layering and fussy cut flowers under the photo from In Bloom, Calling Cards and Flower Bed papers.

I used a Flourish Ornaments here.  I cut the border off of it.  I embossed it with Snow Embossing powder and applied some ink.  A sprinkling of Tickled Seedlings were placed around the layout.  I used Fresh Florals, Apricot Blooms and Summer Blooms.

On each side of the photo I used the Heidi's Emblem Chipboard, embossed with Snow embossing Power and lightly inked.  Beneath the photo I used Stencil Tag 1.

Lots of beautiful flowers!

I used Peaceful from the Tranquility collection for the background.  I applied some amber and marmalade inks on the background and lots stamping using the Tattered Newsprint and Remnants Collage stamps.

Beneath the photo I used the Trailing Scrolls chipboard.  I stained it dark brown and added some Tangerine Embossing Powder.  Beneath the photo I added layers using The Reading Room (side B) from Tattered Walls along with some pieces from the Ephemera pack.

The title is printed chipboard from the Remnants collection.

Here I used the Wheat Stalk chipboard piece, which I stained brown and added Tangerine Embossing Powder.

Adore - Blue Fern Studios

Hi everyone!  Hope you all had a great weekend!  Today I have my first of three layouts to share that I created for Blue Fern Studios .  This one features the Tattered Walls collection.

I used The Garage (Side B) for the background, and applied various distress inks, paint splatters and a variety of Blue Fern Stamps, Floral Grunge, Remnants Collage and Texture Circles.

I placed pieces from Lace 4 around my page.  The lace was inked with a antique distress color.     A sprinkling of Red Grape and Wintergreen Seedlings were applied to the lace.  I  used the following flowers, Summer Blooms, Courtship Roses (which I sprayed with brown mist) and Harvest Lilies.  I added Rose Gold Glitter to the edges and centers of the flowers.

The title was embossed with a mixture of Mushroom and Antique Gold Embossing Powders.

Lots of layering under the photo using the Carolina Room and The Maids Room.  I placed Garden Lattice chipboard pieces on both sides of the photo, embossed with Mushroom and Antique Gold Embossing Powders.
