The Pretty Little Birds Chirped - Creative Embellishments March Challenge

Hi everyone!  It's the first of the month and time for a new challenge at Creative Embellishments.  This month it's a sketch challenge.  Spring will be upon us soon.    Love this time of the year when nature reblooms.  I created a Spring inspired tag.

Papers and die cuts are from Stamperia Imagine and House of Roses collections along with some beautiful Creative Embellishments chipboard.  At the base of my tag I used the  Slim Frame 2 and Ornate Mini Borders embossed with a mixture of Ranger Potting Soil  and Stampendous Aged Ivory.

At the base of my tag I used the  Slim Frame 2 and Ornate Mini Borders embossed with a mixture of Ranger Potting Soil  and Stampendous Aged Ivory.

Tucked within my layers are Leaves Cluster, embossed with Stampendous Aged Ivory and Aged Aqua Embossing Enamel and pieces from Mosaic Panel embossed with Stampendous Aged Rose Embossing Enamel.  The twist, add stitching, I used my sewing machine to stitch around all the papers on my tag.

Here's the sketch. I hope you'll join us this month.  Can't wait to see what you create.  Stop by the blog for more inspiration from the design team.

Love - Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone! I'm up on the Creative Embellishments Blog today with this romantic vintage layout.  I used papers from AB Studio Dreamland collection and lots of Creative Embellishments chipboard.

I covered the background paper with some gesso.  Once dried, I applied some modeling paste using a Prima flower stencil.  Once dried, I applied some more gesso and sprinkled some Stampendous Old Silver Embossing Enamel.  I dabbed the flowers with some Prima Vintage Gold Wax.  From there I started building up my layers with lots of fussy cut papers from the Dreamland collection and beautiful Creative Embellishments chipboard.  The photo is from Prima Finnabair Vintage Photobooth Stickers.

I used both pieces from Heart Flourish Frame 2 along with Flourish 28,  embossed with a mixture of Stampendous Aged Silver, Shabby Green and Hunter Green Embossing Enamels.  Beneath the photo I used a piece from Large Gear Frames embossed with a mixture of WOW Metallic Gold Rich Pale Embossing Powder and Stampendous Aged Silver Embossing Enamel.

To the left of the photo I used a piece from Keys, embossed with Metallic Gold Rich Pale and Aged Silver Embossing powders. Beneath the key I used a piece from Gears 1 1/2 inches embossed with Stampendous Aged Silver and Shabby Pink Embossing Enamel.

Beneath all of layers I used Lacey Heart Border embossed with Stampendous Shabby Pink Embossing Enamel. I cut the border into several pieces.

Here's another view of one of the Gears 1 1/2 inches and the Lacey Heart Border

The title is from Hope Word Set, embossed with Stampendous Shabby Pink Embossing Enamel.  To complete the layout I added some Prima Copper Glass Glitter.

My inspiration for this layout came from the February moodboard  on the AB Studio Facebook group.

Be With Those Who Help Your Being - Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone!  I'm up on the Creative Embellishments Blog today sharing an oversized tag.  It all started with a piece of paper by Riddersholm Design long forgotten, purchased ages ago and a packet of Die Cuts by Couture Creations.  Mix in some flowers, lace and and some of my favorite Creative Embellishments chipboard.

I applied some stamping to the paper and sprayed some Lindy's Cattail Copper Brown Shimmer Spray.   Such a gorgeous color!  From there I built up my layering with die cuts, flowers and chipboard.

I embossed  the Flourish 24 with Stampendous Aged Spice Embossing Enamel.  I cut it in half and placed the pieces above and below the framed photo.  Flourish 11 was embossed with a mixture of Stampendous Aged Ivory Embossing Enamel and WOW Pastel Yellow embossing powder.  Beneath the layering I used a piece from Filigree Corner Set 1 embossed with Lindy's Tin Roof Rusted Embossing Powder.

Love the Square Mini Frames!  I embossed the frame with a mixture of Aged Ivory and Tin Roof Rusted Embossing Powders.  The photo is from Prima Finnabair Words You Need stickers.

At the base of the tag to the right,  I used a piece from Scroll Set 2, embossed with a mixture of aged Ivory, Pastel Yellow and Tin Roof Rusted Embossing Powders.  To finish off the tag I added some flowers, die cuts, lace and a sentiment from Prima Finnabair Art Daily Sentiments stickers.

Use everything in your life to create your art - Creative Embellishments February Challenge

Hi everyone!  It's February 1st and time for a new challenge at Creative Embellishments.  This month's challenge is black and white plus one color.   Always enjoy a challenge that pushes me beyond what I am comfortable with.  I love to create using several colors. so this one took some thinking.    I wasn't sure what color to include with the black and white theme until I came across a package of Petaloo grey flowers.

I applied some Tom Holtz Melange tissue paper to the canvas.  I used a damask stencil and applied modeling paste.  I sprayed the canvas with Lindys Gang I'm Late, I'm Late Slate Flat Fabio Spray. Once dry I applied some stamping.

I used a combination of white and black embossing powers on Flourish 26,  Flourish 3,  Square Mini Frames and Mini Frames.

On the Mini Leaves Set 2 I used  Lindy's Gang Embossing Powder Chrome Doesn't Pay. To complete the canvas, I added flowers, Tim Holtz Butterflies, Mini Prills and microbeads.

Hope you'll join us this month.

Few Words Passed Between Them - Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone!  I'm up on the Creative Embellishments Blog today sharing my latest project. Do you ever hit a roadblock when creating?  I knew I wanted to create a project using pieces from Chess Set and Shutters, but wasn't sure how it would come together.  It wasn't until I found the Phileas Fogg paper from Ciao Bella's Voyages Extraordinaries collection that the light bulb in my head turned on.  I enjoyed the creative process and used quite a few pieces of chipboard from the store.

Lots of layering using chipboard from the store along with papers from Mintay's Home for Christmas and Old Manor collections along with The Phileas Fogg paper from Ciao Bella's Voyages Extraordinaries.   The base of my project are pieces from Shutters.  I covered the shutters with Prima's Brown Rust paint.  Next I applied some Tim Holtz Distress Spray Stain in Vintage Photo, Tea Dye, Walnut Stain and some Prima Rich Copper Wax.

The open pieces from Square Pieces were embossed with Ranger Brick Embossing Powder.  The squares and pieces from Chess Set were embossed with Blue Fern Studios Black and Ivory Embossing Powders along with some Prima Bronze Age Wax.

I added a couple of windows, one from Arched Windows Set of 3 and one from Windows Set of 4.  Both pieces were embossed with Rangers Potting Soil and Turquoise Embossing Powders.  Flourish Set 27  was embossed with a mixture of Blue Fern Studios Forest and Chili Embossing Powders.  I cut both flourishes into several  pieces and placed them around my project.

Pieces from Mini Leaves Set 1 were embossed with a mixture of Rangers Potting Soil and Turquoise Embossing Powers.  I added some stickers from Tim Holtz Clippings along with some Paper Dolls and some trinkets from my stash.
