Inspection Requested - Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone!  I'm up on the Creative Embellishments Blog today with this vintage layout featuring a photo of my maternal grandfather.  I love working with old photos, and I really love this one.   Love the shadows of the tree and my grandfather.  I used lots of Creative Embellishment products and had a lot of fun distressing the chipboard.

The background paper is from Craft O'Clock Age of Gentlemen.  I applied various stamps from my stash along with the Distressed Text Stamp and Distressed Grid Stamp.  From there lots of layering with paper and chipboard.

On the base of layout I used the Rectangle Panel.  I painted it black and use the Distressed Grid Stamp and embossed it with taupe embossing powder.   I then applied some Prima Rusty Red Matt Wax.   I applied some Tattered Angels Baseboard Clay Mist to the Alphabet Panel along with some Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Aged Mahogany Ink.  Next I used the Distressed Text Stamp and embossed it with a mixture of taupe and black embossing powders. I cut the Alphabet Panel into several pieces and placed them about my layout.  To the left of the photo I used a flair from Bright Flair Set.

Pieces from Distressed Checker Pieces were spray with Tattered Angels Baseborad Clay Mist.  I randomly stamped numbers on the pieces and then used a dot stamp and embossed with black embossing powder.

I used a piece from the Large House Set.  I sprayed it with Tattered Angels Baseboard Rocks Mist and then applied some Aged Mahogany Distress Ink.  I used a wood grain stamp on the house and embossed with with a mixture of  taupe and black embossing powders.  I used the larger window from Arched Window Set of 3 and did the used the same paint and mist as the house along with some Prima Burlap paint.   I used randomly stamped the window and applied some Prima Aged Brass Wax.  Behind the window I placed vellum from Finnabair Art Daily Vellum Journaling Pad.

Lots of layering with chipboard, including Gear Set 2 MediumSimple Gear FlourishSteampunk Keys,  Steampunk Pipe CornerSteampunk Pocket WatchesWind Me Up and  Fancy Filigree Flourish.

Be Happy - Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone!  I'm up on the Creative Embellishments blog today with my latest project, a layout featuring a photo my my maternal grandmother and her neighbor, Mrs. Wells.  My grandmother is the taller one.  Love this photo!  The two of them took daily walks in the woods in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia.  They were as different a salt and pepper, but formed a wonderful friendship.  I have a lot of fond memories of the time spent with my grandparent's at their home in the mountains of West Virginia.

I used papers from Craft O'Clock's Hour of Longing collection.  I applied some gesso to the background paper and applied some Shimmerz Coloringz Mama Sings The Blues.  I then applied some stamping using stamps from my stash along with the Distressed Script Stamp.  Lots of layering, flowers and of course Creative Embellishments Chipboard.

Beneath the photo I used a piece from Flourish Set 6, embossed with a mixture of Emerald Creek Allure Ammo Camo and WOW Earthtone Olive embossing powders.

Under the flower I used the other piece from Flourish Set 6.

On both sides of my photo I used Palm Cluster Set, embossed with Emerald Creek Allure Ammo Camo embossing powder.

Underneath the photo I used  Flourish 18, embossed the same as Flourish Set 6.

Family Photo - Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone!  I'm up on the Creative Embellishments blog today.    Lately I've been into creating layouts.  I found a lot of old family photos that fit with my vintage shabby chic style.  The most recent photo is family members of my maternal grandfather.

I have several paper collections from Craft O'Clock.  Love the vintage vibe to their design.  For my layout I used papers from their Faded Memories collection.  I left the background paper untreated, as I love the colors and design.  At the base of my layout is a new chipboard piece, Intricate Doily.  I embossed it with a mixture of Donna Salazar's Mixed Media Inx Truffle and Blue Fern Studios Sage Embossing Powders and added some Prima Green Brocade and Rich Copper Wax. Next I added layers with papers and chipboard.

Here's a close up of the Intricate Doily.  Love all the detail!

Beneath the photo I used Flourish 5 and beneath it a piece from Mini Pocket Watches.
Both pieces were embossed with the truffle embossing powder.  I added a little copper embossing powder to the pocket watch.

Beneath the layers I used Scroll Corner 2.  Embossed the same as Flourish 5.

Under the photo I placed Scroll Border, embossed with a mixture of truffle and sage embossing powders.  To complete my layout I added some trinkets, flowers, butterflies.

I hope I've inspired you.

The Time You Enjoy Wasting - Creative Embellishments May Challenge

Hi everyone it's that time again, the first of the month and a new challenge at Creative Embellishments. This month's challenge was a challenge for me with the bright colors and patterns.  Wasn't sure what to go with and in the end I chose circles.

I created this canvas in hues of blue and purples.  I started off by stamping the background using the Circle Bokeh Stamp.  I then applied two colors of mist, blue and purple.  Tucked within my layers are pieces from the Circles Panel, which I embossed with some purple embossing powder and Distressed Punchinella Pieces, also embossed with purple embossing powder.

 Here's the May Challenge photo.

Stop by the Creative Embellishments blog for inspiration from the design team.  Hope  you'll join us this month.
