Make Your First Step - Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone!    I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. The weather over the weekend was beautiful, perfect for getting some much needed yard work done.  Love looking at the blooming phlox and dianthus in my yard.  I'm up on the Creative Embellishments blog today with this vintage layout.  I have lots of old family photos, and have used this one several times.  Love the picture of my mom and her little brother. What make the photo specials is that it contains my grandmother's hand writing.

Papers are from Craft O'Clock Spring Morning Dreams.  I used a few new pieces of chipboard along with a stencil.  Lots of fussy cut work, and flowers from 49 and Market & Prima Marketing.

I used the Circle Lattice Stencil on the background paper along with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink Frayed Burlap.  Love the new Doodle Flowers.  I painted them with Tim Holtz Frayed Burlap Distress Paint, and sprinkled on some white embossing powder.

Love the new Frond Flourish.  I inked it with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Peeled Paint and lightly dabbed it with Tim Holtz Distress Paint, Peeled Paint.

Flourish 10 is my go to chipboard piece.  I used a couple shades of green paint on it.

More pieces from Doodle Flowers and Flourish 10.  The title is from Prima Finnabair Sentiments stickers.

Hopes and Desires - Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone!  I'm up on the Creative Embellishments blog today with this vintage steampunk layout.

I used Scrapaholics Memories Collection along with various steampunk chipboard pieces from the store.  There is a large assortment steampunk chipboard to choose from.

At the base of the layout I used a piece from Large Gear Frames and  Steampunk Corner Set embossed with a mixture of Stampendous Embossing Enamels, Shabby Aged Bronze and Shabby Aged Rose.

The photo sits a top a piece from the Large Gear Set, embossed with Stampendous Aged Bronze Embossing Enamel.  Beneath the large gear is a piece from Simple Gear Flourish, embossed the same mixture of embossing enamel used on the large gear and simple gear flourish.

There I've placed the other piece from Simple Gear Flourish.  To finish off the layout I added some die cut pieces using some Scarp Man dies,  Prima Beaded Berries and floral picks from my local craft store.

Listen - Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone!  I'm up on the Creative Embellishments blog today.   The weather has been beautiful lately. The blooming daffodils, tulips and forsythia inspired me to create this vintage layout featuring a photo of my maternal grandmother.

Papers and die cuts are from 49 and Market Vintage Artistry Everyday collection.

A piece from Scroll Set 3 was painted with linen paint.  Once dry, I used the Distressed Script Stamp  along with some black ink.  Flourish 10 was painted with various shades of green.  I dabbed on some Prima Finnabair Vintage Silk Wax.

At the base of my layout I used the Leafy Circle Frame, painted with various shades of green and dabbed with the Vintage Silk Wax.

I love the Leaves Cluster chipboard.  I painted it with some yellow ochre paint and once dried dabbed on some buttermilk paint.

Another view of the Leaves Cluster.  To finish off the layout I added some Prima flowers, and some bits and pieces of foliage and flowers from my stash.

Keepsake - Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone!  I'm up on the Creative Embellishments Blog today with a vintage layout.  My thoughts are of blooming flowers and lots of greenery, patiently waiting for Spring to warm up.

Lots of Creative Embellishments chipboard and papers from Craft O'Clock Rays of Sunshine. The photo is from Prima's Finnabair Vintage Photobooth stickers.

I used identical frames from Oval Ornate Frames and Mini Frames.  I inked both frames with Versa Magic Niagra Mist ink. Using a doily stamp, I stamped the frames with a darker green ink, Hint of Pesto.

At the base of my project I used a frame from Circle Doodle Frames, inked with the same colors as the Oval Ornate Frame and Mini Frame. Lots of fussy cutting done, adding flowers to my layering.  To the right of the frame I used Flourish 27, inked with Hint of Pesto.  The title is from Prima's Finnabair's Sentiment Stickers.

I cut a piece from Lace Border 2 and added some texture paste. Once dried I inked the piece with Niagra Mist and Hint of Pesto.

Here's another view of a piece from  Lace Border 2.  To finish off my project I added some die cut pieces and foliage from my local craft store.

Cherish - Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone!  I'm up on the Creative Embellishments blog today with another vintage layout.  I've been longing for warmer weather and the arrival of Spring.  When it comes to the weather, lately it's been a roller coaster ride. Hoping soon that Spring will make an appearance and stay.

I fell in love with the papers in the Golden Dreams collection by Paper Heaven.  The flowers remind me of the blossoms on my fruit trees.  Hoping to see them soon.  Lots of layering with Creative Embellishments chipboard.   All chipboard pieces were painted with Folk Art Villa Green paint.  Once the paint dried I dry brushed the chipboard pieces with Deco Art Light Avocado paint. I added a few flowers from my stash along with some fussy cut flowers from Paper Heaven's Innocence Flowers.

The image is from Prima Marketing Finnabair Vintage Photobooth sticker book.  At the base I placed a doily, from a Prima die.  The image is nestled in Flourish 17 Set.  Beneath Flourish 17 Set is a piece cut from Lace Border 2.

Here's another view of  Flourish 17 Set.  Beneath the flourish is another piece cut from Lace Border 2.  I applied some stamping on the background paper with Tuskineko Versa Magic Niagara Mist Chalk Ink using the Distressed Script Stamp

Flourish 10 was cut in half and placed on each side of the image.  Beneath the flourish you can see stamping from the Distressed Script Stamp.

Here is a view of the other half of  Flourish 10.  Beneath the flourish I placed the Baby's Breath.
