Hi everyone! I'm up on the Creative Embellishment blog today sharing a canvas I created using some of my favorite Creative Embellishments chipboard pieces. My inspiration came last weekend as I sat on my front porch drinking a cup of coffee and looking out at my flower garden. Hues of purple and pink stood out among all the flowers. I watched the birds flying from bush to bush in my yard, tending to their nests full of eggs. I love this time of year, especially when the weather cooperates and brings us warm sunny days.
I covered the canvas with a piece of pattern paper. I added various colors of distressed oxide inks, colored waxes and some random stamping. Next I built up layers using some paper scraps and pieces of ephemera. I used both pieces of Scroll Set 3 at the base of the canvas. I applied a couple shades of purple distressed oxide inks along with some raspberry ink.
I love how intricate the frames are from the Square Mini Frames. I applied a couple shades of purple distressed oxide ink to the frame and then applied some vintage silk wax.
Here you can see the Scroll Set 3 and the top of the frame from Square Mini Frames.
Beneath the flowers I placed pieces from the new Delicate Ivy chipboard. I love how dainty the leaves are. I inked the pieces with some dark green ink and added some vintage silk wax.
Thanks for stopping by!
