I've been enjoying working with old photos lately. I came across one of my grandfather and uncle. My mom and her family lived in Canada up until the 1950's. My grandfather was a Royal Canadian Mountie. I have the patch from his uniform and I want somehow to incorporate it into a layout one of these days. I love this picture of my grandfather in his uniform, with his first born son, my Uncle Bruce.
Ironically I found a photo of my grandfather and uncle later on in life, where the roles were turned, and my uncle was the one in a uniform, as he was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force.
All of the beautiful paper and embellishments I used on my layout came from The November kit at
Artful Delight, filled with Fancy Pants Lilac House Paper collection.
If you haven't ordered your kit yet, there are a few kits left, and while you are at it, don't forget the sketch challenge over at Artful Delight. You have until November 27th to create and upload your layout using this sketch, which yours truly created! The winner of the sketch challenge will win our December kit!
And speaking of sketches, today is Thursday and that means a new sketch over at Sketches In Thyme.
This week's sketch was created by Kristine Davidson for Creative Scrappers, and I really enjoyed using it on my layout. Come on over at join us at Sketches In Thyme!
I hope you aren't tiring yet of my layouts using the old photos. I have a few more layouts coming up, infact one tomorrow of my grandparents that I can't wait to share! Here is a little sneak peek:
Thanks for stopping by!
