Canvas For Scrapki-Wyzwaniowo October Challenge

I came across a blog  Scrapki-Wyzwaniowo and loved the idea behind their October Challenge, "In My Head."  My mind is cluttered with so many things, much of which I store away and some that are   continually on my mind.  Some thoughts are happy and cheerful, and some are sad and dark.  Made me think of a book, with chapters full of  twists and turns . . . so much like my life right now.  So I decided to create a canvas to some what resemble a book, with lots of pages, some happy and colorful and some sad and dark.

Lots and lots of layering with papers from Marion Smith Designs Motley and Mad Tea Party Collections, and bits and pieces of mixed media.  Here are a few closeups:

An Autumn Inspired Canvas

Hi everyone!  I have a canvas to share with you I created using using some beautiful laces and flowers from the Tresors de Luxe store.

It's chilly outside and the leaves are falling from the trees.  I love this time of the year, especially the colors of the leaves which inspired me when creating my canvas.

I used two different laces on my layout, both of which I painted with some Twinkling H20 paints.

along with some fabric flowers in dark peach and yellow:

Love Letters

Hi everyone,  here today to share a layout I created using some beautiful lace and flowers from the Tresors de Luxe Etsy store.

I've enjoyed lately working with vintage papers by Marion Smith Designs.  Here I have used papers from the Motley collection along with some White Venice Lace and Multi Colored Chiffon flowers from the Tresors de Luxe store.

Tucked beneath layers of papers is some of the beautiful Venice Lace that I painted with some watercolor paint.

Here I have used the same lace but added some color!  Isn't it pretty?!?!

A beautiful cluster of flowers and embellishment including Multi Colored Chiffon flowers found in the store.

Exciting News To Share And A Canvas Too!

I'm  excited to announce that I have joined the design team at
Tresors de Luxe.  It's a designer's dream to be able to create with the beautiful laces, flowers and embellishments from their store!

My first project is a canvas I created using papers from Marion Smith's Motley and Mad Tea Party collections along with some masking, inking, misting and stamping.

I cut apart some of the Venice Lace from the store (LA-019) and misted it to give it an aged look.

I added some of the Venice Lace (LA-019) under a Shabby Chic flower embellishment (FL-021), and laid both on top of a beautiful Pink Fabric Flower (FL-054).

Tresors Supplies:

Ivory Lace Trim, Venice Lace  LA-019

C'est Magnifique October Sketch and Layout

Yesterday I shared with you the reveal of C'est Magnifique's October Kit, "Sweet Treat" and today is the reveal of the October sketch.  I created my  layout using the October Main kit, Embellishment add on, flower add on and mixed media add on.

Here is the October sketch:

We would love to see YOU use our sketch as inspiration for a layout.  We have very few rules for our Sketch Challenge........as a matter of fact, we have just one rule.......we want your layout to resemble the sketch.  Feel free to flip or rotate the sketch, but we do want to look at your layout and be able to see that you used the sketch.  Other than that, you are free to use anything you have in your personal stash, and we welcome all styles of scrapbooking.

We will award two prizes for this sketch challenge.  The first prize will be a collection of paper, flowers, chipboard, and embellishments selected by C'est Magnfique's owner Deonna.  The winner of the prize package will also be able to shop in the C'est Magnifique Store, and have their purchases sent with the prize package, so that means you won't have to pay for shipping.

Our second prize, a $10 gift certificate to the C'est Magnifique Store,  will be awarded randomly to one of our participants who obviously uses one of our kits to create their Sketch Challenge layout.

We will also chose 5 (or maybe more) layouts to feature on our blog!
You have the entire month of September to submit your layout.

What do you have to do to enter our sketch challenge?

1.  You must be a follower of our blog.  It's easy to become follower -see the left sidebar.

2.  Create a layout using the sketch, and add it to our blog using the Inlinkz tool below.  Please link to the blog post where you have uploaded your layout  (not your general blog address). If you do not have a blog, you may link to an online gallery.

Deadline for entering the sketch challenge is midnight, October 31, 2014 (US time).
Have fun with the sketch.  We can't wait to see how you use it!

I'll be back tomorrow with some exciting news and a canvas to share!

Thanks for stopping by!
