A Day In The Sunshine

I saw the cutest picture on my friend's Facebook Page yesterday and knew I had to use it on a layout.  She takes the best pictures of her children and this one of her daughter Zoey playing in a puddle was screaming "put me on a layout".  I used the September sketch from Purple Pumpkin and papers from October Afternoon's Sidewalk collection.
I used  a couple of Purple Pumpkin spotty buttons, a pink crochet doily and a heart button, along with some crochet flowers I had in my stash

along with the September sketch:

Free Spirited

I love it when I can get a layout completed and be able to participate in a couple of challenges!  Case in fact  for my layout today.  I used the September 15th sketch at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge (which I flipped) and Use 2 Different Fonts at Scrapperiket Challenge Blog.
I took the sketch from Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge
and flipped it:
For my title I used 2 fonts, one by American Crafts and the other
by Pink Paislee:
I actually got a tad bit artsy this time and applied some blue paint on the background along with some clouds using some texture paint:
I'm trying to take baby steps and break out of my comfort zone and use some new techniques on my layouts.

On another note I wanted to share with you that my layout Always & Forever won the August Trend Challenge at Websters Pages!  I was beyond excited that I won and even more excited to see that I am featured at Websters Pages this week! You can check it out here.

The Little Things In Life

I can feel and see the arrival of Fall here in my neck of the woods.  Cooler temps have arrived, my mums are beginning to bloom and the leaves on the trees are starting to change color.  So looking forward to the cool crisp days ahead!  I've got a layout to share with you today that I created using my September kit from Artful Delight and another cute picture of Little Miss Zoey enjoying some ice cream!
I enjoyed working with the papers in the kit which includes Kaisercraft's Save The Date and October Afternoon Cakewalk along with some Echo Park Birthday Girl.  There are still a few kits left and if you would like to order one go here.

I based my layout on the September sketch
which I used  for my initial creating point, and sort of took a direction of my own.  Create a layout using the sketch and upload it here by September 23rd for a chance to win the October kit.

Artful Delight is currently having a DT call.  We are looking members to add to our layout team as well as our card team.  If you would like the chance to work with Leeanne's gorgeous kits, check out the details here.  You have until September 30th to submit your application.

Always & Forever

Hope everyone had a good weekend!  I spent the day yesterday with my sister and had a blast!  Our day consisting of lunch and a little shopping.  I spent today working on a layout for the August Trend Challenge at Webster's Pages.  This has been on my to do list and I'm happy that I was able to complete it.
I used some papers from my stash from the Life's Potrait Collection and I even dusted off my Cricut and used it to cut out the phrases.  It's been ages since I've used my Cricut.

My first attempt at masking using Martha Stewart's Texture paint and a gorgeous mask by Prima.

Lots of layering and fussy cutting!!

Well I'm off to clean up my scrap table!  It's a mess and I need to get working on a layout for my DT assignment for Artful Delight.  Hope to be back in a couple of days to share another layout with you.

Thanks for stopping by!

Unique

Time gets away from you when life is busy and I realized it when I noticed that my last blog post was almost two weeks ago.  Yikes . . .  I sat down last night and started working on a layout for the September challenge at Get Creative and finished it up today.
We were to use the following photo for inspiration:
I drew from the colors as well as some of the elements in the picture:
The flowers from the ends of the long pillow rolls.

The frames from the bookcases.

The Admit One ticket from the drawers.

The rug in the bottom of the photo has a hexagon pattern and above the bed is a quote.

All of the supplies are from Amy Tangerine Sketchbook collection and the quote is a rub on I found in my stash.

The beautiful young girl in the picture is my friend Julina's daughter Rio on her first day of school, this past August 27th.
